A Little Hotel Help needed - Can't seem to tick all the boxes

I've been staying in guesthouses the last few trips and although they've been adequate i'm looking for something slightly better. I've been trawling through the reviews and comments on the site for a couple of days and always seem to come hit a snag with what i'm looking for. Maybe I just need to compromise??

Probably going october so should still hit low season prices I think

Ideal Scenario would be:

3* - 4* Hotel with a pool (Would really like a pool to relax in this time)

1500 - 2500 bt per night

No Joiner Fee

No Under 20 Rule (one the LT girls I stayed with last trip was 19 who I wouldn't mind seeing again)

Around the LK Metro preferably (I play golf out of there and don't want to drag the clubs too far)

If I could find something that had all the others and is relatively easy to get to LK Metro I would look at other areas. Tims Boutique and Areca would seemingly be out because of the 20 year old rule. However on Expedia it said minimum age for checkin at Intimate(Tims) Hotel was 18. Might need to message them to see if you checked in with the girl if that would make a difference. Don't know what the LK Group rules are as couldn't seem to find that out from my searches. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

LK hotels themselves would seem ideal.

As much as I love all things Australian, I got to get me action of the asian persuasian.

I'd suggest the LK Metropole and the LK Rennaisance, both located on Soi Diana (where you want to be), both have nice 3/4 star rooms, in your budget, and no problem bringing under 20yr guests back at either.

Out of the two my preferrence would the the LK Ren.

Tim's (now known as Intimate hotel but is the same) would be fine. Never taken a girl under 20 there, but guy told me its no problem. He said anything possible here... (Just slip him a tip if required).

Thanks for the reply guys.

LK Renaissance sounds and looks like the one for me, easy access to everywhere I want to go, pool and no under 20 rule. I might just message the Intimate hotel to see what would happen if I checked in with the girl at the start of my stay as it seemed a slightly cheaper deal for when I was going.

Now to find the best deal, book up and try to forget about the long few months before I get back

Hotel very near to LK metro with pool and jacuzi is Sutus court. The room rate is excellent . At Sutus court 1 the new building the large room is around 930 baht via booking.com

LK Ren pool is not up to the standard of the hotel - its small to say the least

LK Metro the pool is at the front of the hotel - people walking in the street can see you

I suppose you are left with Tims - however a lot of the golf guys stay in Soi 10 as well

Doesn't make any difference when you bring the lady. You book room for occupancy by two people - check-in with her, bring her anytime. Same same.

try Tims other hotel - Fourteen Again

We're booked there August 3 to 17 and can/will put up pics of the rooms

1100baht a night - with jacuzzi :GoldenSmile1:

http://www.timbarpattaya.com/14again.php

Even got the extra king size plus beds to 3sums (im gunna try a 4 sum to check size)

told we can use Intimates pool and there's no joiner fee - have email to confirm this (twice)

i can tell you when im there if they try to pull the under 20 shit on me

If they do it will get changed as i'll cause a stink like they've never seen

The difference in bringing the lady at the start wasn't to do with the price of the room it was more to do with their under 20 rule for a 19 YO thai girl I stayed with last time. If I checked in with her they may(or may not) look on it differently thinking she was "kind of" your girlfriend rather than rolling up pissed one night with a lady under 20.

The deal I was talking about was Tim's was working out slightly cheaper than LK Renaissance which is why I would have preferred it. Not sure i'm a fan of the showers attached to the baths at Tim's and extra charge for WiFi so I might as well pay the little bit extra and go for the LK Ren. Cheers for the reply anyway.

Cheers for the link. That certainly seems worth a second look, the rooms look great and if you can use the Intimate pool round the corner all for 1100 I might have the budget for 3somes too  :ThumbUp6:

LK Renaissance is fine but the pool, as stated, is small and shallow. But in a way it's cool because you can look down onto Soi Diana, which is what I did during Songkran. Watch out for the breakfast... I got food poisoning from the meat which was probably left over from the past several breakfasts. Felt terrible for two days.

I'm sure you would find several hotels to choose from if you search on my site:

http://www.wgfriendly.com/search_girl_friendly_hotels.php?country=Thailand&city=Pattaya

Put your criteria and check-in date, number of nights into the search box and one more click... LIST!

I never heard about a hotel enforcing an "under 20" rule? where was that?

Areca Lodge is well known for it

thank you for the information - I must have missed that bit of intel. I will see that I add a "comments" area where I put that kind of info.

If you met the girl last time is she not 20 now? Have to say although the rule does not bother me as I prefer slightly more experienced girls you will be missing out not staying at Areca, two nice swimming pools, the best room service meals I have experienced in LOS, great hotel and although some may view it as a disadvantage, my last stay my LT, 3 day rule break 26 YO girl was never asked for her ID.

I've just come back from this trip and she's not 20 until March next year. Areca would be my first choice all other things considered and although i like the more experienced girls too if something catches your eye and turns out to be 18/19 I don't want to be limited.

I know they're definitely not apples for apples but depending on how I want to budget I think i'm narrowing it down to LK Renaissance, Sutus Court 1 or Tim's Bar although I could change my mind before booking.

check out Duannaming hotel on soi buakow, has nice private pool in back. a room with a deck looking over the pool is 1100 baht per day.not a fancy hotel, but clean and has a good location and I think good value .

Why stay at a Hotel?  Try to book a Studio-Condo instead!! Look at "Dancewatcher's" Website, they have Condo's in Pattaya & also in Jomtien - and they are great value.

I have always used Studio Condo's to stay everythime I went to LOS.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just checked them out and there are some great looking rooms.

I've always had a few misconceptions about condos such as they were only for long term rental, didn't feel as secure as a hotel and the cleaning/changing of bedding wasn't very regular or you had to sort it out yourself. You also regularly see in the local press the odd falang or Thai girl taking a dive of the high floors of condos.

Looking at the Dancewatchers website clears up the cleaning and the availability of shorter term rental and its all within my price range for well set out high spec rooms. The one next to Central Festival Plaza looks ideally located for everywhere I want to go. The rooms look well booked so i'll have to check on dates.

As far as security or other issues are concerned, if you have any problems are you pretty much on your own or is there anyone on site to assist? I would suppose you would have a contact from Dancewatchers if there is anything room related?

Any negatives or hassles you can think of with a condo as oppose to a hotel?

Cheers, Steve

yes, there are quite some:

- no security, or loose security, not easy to have them intervene if things turn sour for whatever reason

- often no CCTV to deter thieves

- no reception desk that checks IDs and keeps copies

- if the bedsheets get soiled, it can sometimes be a hassle to have them replaced quickly enough if there is no spare set ready, same goes for the towels

I cannot comment on others but Dancewatchers is a class act. They are very well organised and any problem gets solved with a phone call. Tik has it well sorted and their cleaners are very trsutworthy. Nothing appears to be to much trouble, we have had dozens of clients stay there without a single complaint.

For a newbie - it is always best to stick to a hotel - the ones in Soi 10 probably provide the best solution all round taking into account what has been mentioned by manarak

Once you are a bit more experienced then condos can be great and more cost effective - especially if you have a LT TGF
