I stopped in today and met the owner of Bear Gym. All new equiptment and fully aircon. It is well suited for the serious bodybuilder as well as the guy just trying to stay in shape. 2 floors of machines and cardio and it all looks good. The owner seems like a very nice guy. 7500 baht per yr and 2300 on a per month basis. Its located in a row of shophouses on Soi Watboon between the new jomtien 2nd road and sukhumvit. Looks great for the price...clean, lots of equiptment and plenty of aircon.

 

Apparently the 2300 rate is aimed at the Russians

 

Light on cardio equipment at the moment but there is a 2nd floor with plenty of space

 

I like the idea of plenty of air-con

 

Anyone know any more about this place?

sounds interesting,I very much would like to find a good gym when I start my new life in the area. I look forward to some more info should anyone go there

The yearly and monthly prices are excellent if the place gets cardio equipment. In fact, Pattaya could use a place like this.

I used this gym for a week in October and it has some downsides..... All the equipment is from China...although all equipment now comes from China you get good stuff and bad.

 

Good - Free weights and squat racks

Bad - All the Cardio and pin loaded machines are built like crap. Bike didn't work when I was there and the cable crossover was rubbish.

 

Universal is a better choice in my opinion.

where is Universal  ?

Universal gym up on sukhumvit just past klang going north... better than most tony's.  mainly free weights some machines.  better maintenance than most they give you a towel... 80 baht per visit only and i think the monthly is 800
