Looking for a reasonably priced guesthouse

krw2011

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Long time lurker first time poster here. I have been to Pattaya now five times all 1-3 month trips. I have always traveled with a friend so we've just rented houses instead of staying in hotels or guesthouses. This time I am traveling alone so I just want a cheap guesthouse. I am travelling back to Pattaya mid September and staying for a month. I'm not looking for anything fancy as long as it has wi-fi and I would prefer it to be in the LK Metro/Soi Lengkee area. Any help with suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks -krw2011

Well, considering it is the low season I'm aiming for 10-15 thousand bahts for the month.

I always stay at The Canterbury Tales. It is on Soi chayapoon, so only 2 minutes from LK and a nice location to get a little quiet too.

He does very good rates for a month and I have never had a problem whilst there, and I really am not the safest traveler! 555

Thanks Bill. I have been reading reviews of Cantebury tales and looks like an alright place to stay. It's definitely going on the short list. As for being a safe traveler I usually end up in a house over there with no Farang neighbors in the middle of the darkside or hidden out on Soi Bonkai so no stranger to hairy rides home late at night. 555

Choy soy is another good option mate, cheap rooms and excellent quality, there are a few threads on it. I'm booked in to stay there in two weeks time.

The Rcon Blue does a nice monthly deal for 13k per month if you want a hotel style room with kitchenette.

I used to use the LK Pavilion for monthly stays, nice sized room wit kitchenette. Great staff and security. But 17k per month is the best price they tend to give.

Hi

The Devonshire Restaurant & Guest House. (Soi Lengkee)

Really well run and some excellent rooms and one of the most delicious restaurants attached.

See my FULL detailed review here:

http://www.pattaya-a...t-hotel-review/

The Clean Guest House (Soi Lengkee)

Great Guest House. I found it a really lovely private place to stay and good value.

See my FULL review here:

http://www.pattaya-a...-lenkee-review/

The Rock House (Soi LK Metro)

Right in the middle of the action on Soi LK Metro. The real highlight is the friendliest little bar in all Pattaya with Alex as your host. The Bar has just been refurbished so probably even better now and I am looking forward to dropping in soon to check it out.

See my FULL review here:

http://www.pattaya-a...k-metro-review/

The 3Som Guest House (Soi LK Metro)

Great place to stay not as freindly and inviting bar as The Rock House but good value and nice big rooms.

See my FULL review here:

http://www.pattaya-a...k-metro-review/

Onyx Guest House (Soi Lengkee)

Just for fun a really low budget $450 baht a night Guest House just as an idea what this price tag includes. Look it is a little shabby and poorly run but the value is okay with AC / Wi-Fi incl / TV of sorts lol

See my FULL report here:

http://www.pattaya-a...-lenkee-review/

Also check out Canterbury Tales Cafe and Guest House. Has some really good reviews here and seems to be accommodating to Monthly Rental deals.

http://www.pattaya-addicts.com/forum/topic/24311-review-canterbury-tales-cafe/page-31

Hope it helps

Not sure if other Board Members will agree but I like to book, say 4 days then look about for better value when I am on the ground. Not a good idea in Peak Peak season but most of the year plenty of Guest Houses available and fun staying at all different places. Oh and if you get a place that is more like a dumpster you can leg it quickly lmao.

(sorry for the copy & paste)

Oh and you will be a short walk from the Beer Bar Complex on Soi Diana where your photo was taken lol

I agree with Bigbill , The Canterbury Tales .

Have just got back from a second stay there , both times everything was

great.  One small problem with the aircon was sorted within an hour of me

reporting it.

Dave and his lovely wife will give any advice on patts  you might need.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm sending emails to some of the places to check for availability right now. I've been working for the last few days so couldn't reply.

And Up2u2 nice reviews. Very informative and exactly the information I always look for when searching for a new place to stay. Also nice catch on the bar in my picture. It's the Dick Inn in the bar complex by Papagayo on Soi Diana. My buddy Pieter owns it so I spend most nights there punishing my liver with vodka-lipos.

Here is a new Guesthouse that is planned to be opened early August the rates are expected to be 18k per month for large rooms with Balcony or 14k per month for the smaller rooms. I hope to have some updates for the forum in the business section later this week as we are currently fitting out the rooms with furniture and fixtures.

Hi

I’ve got some questions.

How much deposit will I have to pay?

What about housekeeping (monthly rate)? (How often do you change the bed sheets, towels, cleaning?)

Does the monthly rate include electric, water used?

We dont allow dogs, actually we are pretty full all year and have 25 rooms so I guess we cannot please all the people all the time.
