Had a meal in Viet-nam once and the menu called it Duck - Dog. Hoped that it would be duck but judging by the thickness of the skin it must have been dog.  This was served up to a tourist group from a cruise ship who had gone ashore for the day and was the main dish.  It was a few years ago but not long enough for me to forget!

Saw some news documentaries about this recently. Nasty stuff, but they could come into my local village and take 30 local street dogs and there would still be 100 remaining.  What is it with Thais that get a puppy and once it grows up,they discard it and replace it with another.

Wonderful IMO, round up as many of the scabby stinking mongrel bastards as possible and turn them into Vietnamese sausages.

Thai neighbor a few years ago bought a little fluffy white puppy for his 5 year old daughter. All I heard all day long was that poor bastard dog squealing in pain because the little bitch was picking it up by the ears and pulling it apart. A few months later when the pup had grown it was replaced by another cute little ball of white fur, a few months later that was replaced.

In Patts they say many of the stray dogs come from farangs too. Farang sets up home with his BGF, rent a house, he's got his "wife", then gets a dog, now has a real home life. Soon it goes sour, they break up, move out, dog gets kicked out into the soi.

Last place I lived in Patts had large vacant land nearby. No bullshit there must have been 50 dogs living on that land, they all rooting and increasing the size of the packs. Used to keep me awake all night when they fighting for a turn on the bitches. I wish the Vietnamese had of removed those bastard things.

Must of been a joke. Family dogs are treasured in Vietnam they guard the house. Neighbours in Vietnam are very close friends, they know everyone in the village. neighbours don't normally steal from others and certainly would not eat a friends dog who they had for 6 years.............unless they were desperate and really poor. Which I doubt because dog meat is cheap.

P.s Even Viet people joke about eating dog, only really really poor people eat it thought. But meats meat right? :)

My mates and I had dog soup in Korea many years back,  just to say we had it once, nothing delicious about it. People eat chickens, cows, pigs, deer, bear, frogs, snails, geckos, snakes, etc....get over it.

I used to eat turtle soup in S'Pore, that was nice and tasty. I've eaten some evil things in LOS...maggoty, wormy things...ants eggs are vile, likewise those maengdar beetles and their eggs. I ate croc in Aust, and roo too of course. I don't thing dog would taste much different to roo, which is a disgusting meat, regardless of all the bullshit fuss they make over it these days.
