Sleeping aids

I find I have trouble sleeping in pattaya, don't have a problem in the uk. But with the traffic, noise & humidity I sometimes have a real problem. This never used to be an issue as I'd go to a chemist on soi buakhow & buy some manex. These were great a perfect nights sleep & no drowsy ness the next day. Last trip (jan) I went to make my usual purchase (10 for 1month). As manex was so readily available I'd never even thought it might not be legal, I asked the pharmacist & just got a "no hab". Anyone know of a good replacement or if I maybe able to buy at another place? Any help greatly appreciated.

I get Ambien 10 mg.  If one pharmacy says they don't have it, I just go to the next one.  Most seem happy to sell it to me.

Go to the clinic on soi buakao about 20 metres north of Oasis a gogo and ask for zanex (they are a light purple colour). They are 200 baht for 10 and fantastic. No drowsiness the next day. Half a tab will knock me out for about 4 hours and a full tab about 8 hours. Great of long haul flights also.

LOS. Gotta Love It.

+1 -- no better sleep aid than that.  Also helps you get up in the morning!

Just people doing business.  Naked.  With Buddha.

Buy imodium before you need imodium.

Be careful. Those purple pills are no longer legal in Thailand as of this month. They have been used as a date rape drug here. They can no longer be found in phamacies. What's worse is that the active ingredient in Xanax is Alprazolam, which is on a list of drugs that cause ED (erectile dysfunction).  http://www.edguidance.com/causes/drug-list.html%C2'>

And if you are found bringing it into the UK, you could have problems - it is a Class C drug

The penalty for possession is up to 2 years in prison, an unlimited fine, or both

Ambien (stilnox/zolpediem) is getting harder to find, although I usually end up finding it after stopping at 5-6 pharmacies. Some pharmacists claim that these drugs because restricted on June 16. Anybody else heard this?

It sounds like you should invest in some silicon ear plugs and a good eye mask before relying on meds like Xanax and Zolam. Especially if it's the noise which is effecting you.

Fewer places sell such drugs in Pattaya at the moment, there has been a recent crack down, even some of the dodgier phramcies have stoppig selling them. As a result they seem to be everywhere in Bangkok now, every 4th stall on Sukhumvit market is selling Benzos.

I use such meds but sparingly. Benzos are not a great drug to mix with alcohol and can do you serious harm. It's also possible to build up a tolerance in time and then you will find it hard to sleep. If you have 2 or 3 restless nights then have a night off the alcohol and pop a blue. I limit myself to 2 or 3 per month.

Zolpediem is cheap and great, but after about 4 nights you have to start upping the dose, and then you feel like s**t when you wake up.

My Dr. prescribed Xanax for my intense phobia of having blood drawn.  Only taken it once, but scheduled for another draw tomorrow, so I will take it a second time.  It made me pretty loopy, but didn't knock me out.  I do not plan on bringing them to Pattaya, nor do I plan on taking one on the plane (although I briefly considered it).

I might try an Excedrin PM -- they tend to knock me out pretty damn well, and I assume there are no "legality" issues with them.

Pure vitamin C 100% acid L ascorbic can help you and your body also. Great for many smalls problems and help your organism immune defense. Just my 2 cents :)

3 gr on breakfast

3 gr on lunch

4 gr on diner (don't worry, you will sleep as a baby, trust me. Vit C make excited only with small doses)

Thats what I was thinking also.

Get an amazing BJ from a skilled fellatrix and you will sleep like a baby no problem.

If you wake up in the middle of the night then give the same girl a nudge for more sleeping aid. :)

Been living in Pattaya for 2 months now and not slept well since I have been here. Was a shift worker for 21 years so my sleep is never brilliant all the time. Went to a med centre on Noen Phlap Whan road, the doc prescribed Valium to be used only when really bad and pharmacy grade Melatonin. Tried the Melatonin and it worked very well, made you feel naturally tired and not drugged tired if that makes sense. Melatonin is a hormone that is produced in the body to help get you to sleep. Only short term use though. Can give you crappy headaches if used often. Gave me the best nights sleep I have had for a long time.
