I haven't done it in a couple years and it was a bus to a minibus to a minibus to a taxi. Can help you this way - have US $, otherwise the thieves at the border will charge you 1000B. The rate should be $20. Don't pay more than $25.

evisa visit http://www.mfaic.gov.kh not to be confused with other similar web sites which are scams.

save a side in your passport. Price now $28 - you need a credit card.

yes the 6 o'clock bus from sukhumvit road across from the top of pattaya kang is good.

it starts in bangkok and stops at 6am in Pattaya

where there are many moto drivers at a restaurant advertising roast pig.

never seen any roast pig there

but the moto drivers are very friendly and knowledgeable about bus times.

cup of hot coffee is 10 THB.

Journey is about 6 hours.

for a door to door service use koh chang travel 500 THB

call Manot Tel 0894067563 or Sak tel. 0899366341

just because i am paranoid does not mean that they are not following me.

Doe's he want to go just to Koh Chang? Or across the border? For Koh Chang he does not need the US $$. But I agree, Minibus is a much more comfortable way to go.

The OP (maybe mistakenly) mentioned Koh Kong which is in Cambodia. IMO the coastal route is still fucked. Having done it a few times, I now avoid it at all costs.

Mini bus pickup from hotel best cheapest option as it goes all the way to the island over the steepest hill climb and turn i ever tried with girl on back crying out in fear.

Made it just as i past several several stopped cars with loads falling off back.

Had a new honda125i scooter.

Expect a crap thai driver to waist over 2 hours time picking up all types of his associates and the kitchen sink.

Several buses run this route all through the day I have a photo of the old timetable somewhere and the Government buses run on the half hour I believe the fast bus takes around 3+ hours to Trat plus a good half hour food break. New bus station is outside Trat by quite a way the old one was almost in the centre of town now you neet to take a local bus to get into town ,  Several mini bus firms at bus station will take you to border for Koh Kong or th the ferry to KOH CHANG both will charge you about 100 Baht
