Can you bring Xanax with presciption

Just reading that Xanax is getting outlawed June 17. Just wondering if it also means if I bring Xanax (6 or 7 tabs) from Canada in a prescription bottle, is it still gonna be illegal? I understand the new law comes into effect June 17 which is the day I arrive. Would I be looking at trouble bringing it in or is it OK with a prescription?

If u have them in a prescription bottle with your name on them, u will have no trouble bringing them through. Enjoy your holiday & stop worrying, Cheers....

1.B Medications containing psychotropic substances of 

category 2, 3, 4 

According to The Psychotropic Substances Act B.E. 2518 (1975), travellers under 

treatment can carry medications containing psychotropic substances of Category 2, 

3, 4 for personal treatment with the quantity of not exceeding 30 days of 

usage and with a certificate/medical prescription of the physician. 

The certificate/medical prescription of the physician should indicate : 

♦ the name and address of the patient, 

♦ the identified medical condition, ♦ the name and the necessity of medical preparations for his/her treatment, 

♦ the posology and total amount of medical preparations prescribed, 

♦ the name, address and licence number of the prescribing doctor. 

The quantity of the medications must not exceed 30 days of usage. 

Examples of psychotropic substances of Category 2, 3, 4 according to Psychotropic 

Substances Act B.E. 2518 (1975) : 

 Category 2 : Buprenorphine, Methylphenidate, Midazolam, Nitrazepam, 

 Phentermine, Temazepam, Triazolam, Zolpidem. 

 Category 3 : Pentazocine. 

 Category 4 : Alprazolam, Bromazepam, Chlordiazepoxide, Clonazepam, 

 Clorazepate, Diazepam, Oxazepam, Lorazepam, Phenobarbital

So yes its legal to take xanax into the country if its prescribed and no more then 30 days worth of dosages.
