Minosa Village - Has anybody been there ?

I went to Minosa village ( Just past The Floating Village ) a few months ago - It was truly AMAZING .

 

They have made a French/Swiss Town with all Shops,Pubs,Shops,Shows,Swans,Ducks,Flowers.Etc,Etc.

 

It`s right opposite THE AMBASSADOR HOTEL on Sukhumvit road.

 

When I went - they were still building it - and it was FREE to walk around.

 

I have some friends over and I would like to take them there but I was told they are now charging 500 Baht to go in....

 

I can't believe it as it wasn't finished and how would all the Shop keepers make their money .Crazy..

 

Anyway it`s a bit of a long way as I haven't got a car so I was wondering if any of you guys have been there?- and are they charging ?

its pure crap & not worth the trek especially with the admission fee. thais get in for free....

I went in there and it was very nice, my wife had to pay the same as me, worth a trip, they are trying to name it "city of love"

Went last month. They said the charge was 1,200 Baht but reduced that to 50 baht when I presented my Thai drivers license. The Thais going were also paying 50 baht. This seemed reasonable as the free show was well done and entertaining. The food court and shops were nothing special but the atmosphere was nice. Parking was free.

 

It's a nice addition to Pattaya, according to the newspaper it was built by a Thai lady from up north who came to Pattaya 10 years ago with 1,400 baht in her pocket and got in the real estate business. Supposedly it costs 1 billion baht and will be quite a bit larger than it is currently when finished.

 

If you can get in for 50 baht I would definitely go. I think the first show is 7:30 or something like that.

I went with my Thai wife and 2 kids during the day in late May.  It cost me and my wife 50 baht each and one of my kids 25 baht, the other was free due to her age.  Maybe they thought I had a Thai driving licence because they did not try to charge me the Farang price.  My wife bought the tickets.  I thought it was very average, a bit like the floating market without the water.  The prices were higher for things that I could buy anywhere else in Patts.  There was no show as the shows did not start till the evening.  The only thing we did was go into the underwater simulation in the entertainment section.  What a RIPOFF.  Nothing like the pictures on the poster outside.  Very disappointing.  I suggest others to give it a try but NOT if you are charged more than 100 baht entry.

My friend went yesterday and was given a ticket to get in for 50 Baht.

He went about mid-day and there was nobody there.

At least we know the price now....Thanks.

When will the discrimination (Thai = cheap price, Farang = double/triple price!!) eventually stop? Farangs already pay a lot to come here and spend money anyway...

Why should it stop here when it continues in many other countries ?

Example of Disneyland in Florida where local Americans pay very cheap compared to foreign tourists...

 

About Mimosa it's very "artificial", but (most?) Thai people really like their visit there
