I am looking at getting a website developed for a business I am starting ie. guesthouse and am wondering if anyone has any recomendations ?

Bad thing about Wix.com is that the websites created there can ONLY be hosted on their servers.

 

They use a proprietary "What You See Is Whet You Get" editor.

 

So, if you ever wanted to move from their servers you would have to start all over.

 

But, Wix.xom will host a simple site for you for free (as long as you accept a few "Wix.com" ad buttons .. 

and your site has wix.com added to the name .. 

 

But, its easy and fun to play with .. 

and, you can upgrade your site to take payment, get rid of the ads, etc ...

i usually develop a site for US$500 if you have a pretty good idea on the design and you are a smallish business. I also do hosting free for a year with that..
