As French Company, they are Strikes Lovers.

KLM gone downhill since merger with Air France.

Used to use them to LOS via Schiphol.

Not now - the far east airlines are better, and cheaper.

KLM favourite's game is to change your booked seat, and do over booking.

 

In high season, be prepared to be changed flight. I got stuck a couple of times in London, Tokyo...

DGCA has asked all airlines to cut back flights this week  by 50%. Call your airline, last thing you need is to be sleeping at the airport. This will effect all French airports.

If you fly KLM you will have plenty of leg room and a good flight. I have used them a lot over the years and had no problems. I am not sure about Air France though.

KLM flights from Amsterdam to Bangkok are merged with China Airlines, So these passengers pay for KLM and fly CA (and as far as I heard they were all very happy with the CA service).

I did KLM a few years back via Schipol. Outgoing flight from Heathrow was delayed resulting in being stuck in the Dam for a day waiting for the next connecting flight to BK. Kicked up a real stink about this and 10 minutes later they announced on the PA that all those who were on this connecting flight would be provided with free hotel for the night. Think they must have taken my name though as they hit me for £300 worth of excess baggage on the way back.....

The seats are no good if your a larger frame.

KLM do not share with China Airlines but from UK regional airports you can get through ticketing ,

just check in (usually an hour before flight)  and wave luggage bye bye , nice . Drink and snack on plane, short hop to Amsterdam

wait for connection in civilised airport with good food at reasonable prices , comfortable uncrowded seating free water fountains, in fact worth paying extra rather than being subjected to Heathrow

Well, flying from Bangkok to Amsterdam these flights are shared. That means that KLM customers fly with CA. Has happened at least the last 1,5 year. Both flightnumbers (for the same plane / flight) are on the information display in the departure hall.

 

No problem for me. Means that KLM customers can enjoy Asian service and see how these things really should work.

Flown with Air France in Premium Economy from Birmingham / Bangkok, very pleased with the service.

Girlfriend just fly back to BKK today (12/06/2013) Just a couple hours delay due to Air traffic controllers strike.

As with any company, its the luck of the draw as to what plane they put on your service.

Flown on Air France a few times. All the hostesses were very polite, and offered a nice service.

 

Unfortunately, they had a tragic accident a few years back. Flight was from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. Read the cockpit transcript, and not sure I want to fly them anymore.
