Windsurfing near Pattaya?

I am an expert level windsurfer accustomed to high winds as found in Maui and San Francisco, generally 18-30 mph.  Short boards, sails in the range of 4.5m to 6m.

I realize there probably is nothing like this around Pattaya.  But I'd still like to get out on a board if there is is any wind that is worthwhile.  I could go on a 7.5m and a 150 litter board if necessary.

Any windsurfing place in the area that I can get to within an hour?   Hoping for advice from those who have windsurfing experience...thanks !!

When you're fucking, its life.  Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

One year I saw they rent also windsurfing boards.

I noticed at that place a local wind stronger than in Pattaya.

It is located just before Ambassador hotel on sukkhumvit road after Jomtien.

Turn on the right and go straight to the beach.

It's not like SF Bay here.  A cold day here is warmer then a hot day in SF.

Daily wind forecasts for Pattaya can be found on Windguru, http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=1587.

Decent winds are forecast for next Sat thru Tues.

There is the Royal Varuna Yatch Club at the foot of Pathermack hill.  This info on winds is from the sailing club.

"Winds: The third season for sailing is usually known as the "Rainy Season". This runs from approximately June through to October. During these months the weather can be hot and humid and the winds light and shifty, with occasional squalls preceding rain showers."

Some one at the club would have good information on different local wind conditions.

The club has more info on local winds at:  http://varuna.org/sailing/cruising/.

Im not a windsurfer but I have watched many kite surfers at Jomtien last week. You could rent the rigs from Thai operators on the beach. It looked as though some guys had their own rigs as well. I hope this info helps.
