Ok, getting low on time now

Stayed at Nova Park in the main building April/May and it was just what i wanted

Trying to book for 14 nights in August and they only have rooms left in the Jamison building which im told is vary old and looks it

Not after the Hilton but want something modernish - otherwise i'll just stay in Soi 6

looked at booking Citin Lodge but after reading some threads here it seems to be in need of a revamp

told it's not like the photos - what a shock

from what i can see it doesnt have joiner fees

Sabai looks good but is it like the photos

Nova Gold is in the right spot but told the rooms are tiny?

At Mind seems spot on but its fully booked

Looking for something with the huge beds that they have at Nova (larger than King - for 3sums)

any ideas please

can anyone vouch for Citin? Maybe Nova Gold?

its for August 3 to 17 - 5 guys - 5 rooms

Just briefly, one of my mates checked out Citin Loft for me and was highly unimpressed.

I've stayed in 'At Mind', clean and modern, standard QS beds.  I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite.  Only issues for me were a hard sofa in the lounge and tiny balconies, and I do like to sit outside.  It doesn't seem to be booked out for your dates, maybe try a different booking site.  These details are from asiawebdirect.com whom I usually use to book hotels with:

For your info - i have stayed at @Mind and found it to be good with reasonable sized rooms. Great location for Soi 6. It is a modern hotel and the staff with good facilities(pool & Gym & sauna) plus some on-site services(massag etc). Staff are friendly. It can be pricey and that is why i have not used it this past 12mts, not great value at the price they were asking. Nova Park, stayed in both parts. I prefer the Jamieson Bld. While it appears to be a little dated the rooms are good size and was value for money. Having the seperate access gave more privacy and made it easy for guest. Also good locatiion. The Jamieson Irsis Oub is a pleasant pub and offer a great English breakfast. Was 99THB when I last stayed there but on recent visit they had hiked up the price to 150THB. had a meal there on Sunday which was excellent value. Nova Gold I found it was more modern accomodation but much smaller rooms, so I gave than one a miss.

yeah, we were in the main building 5 weeks back

i really like the spot as well. Close to everything yet just out far enough to have quiet

How long ago was your visit?

my mates stayed there a nunch of times but said the one time he got the Jaminson building there was mold and it was even a little smelly

Would you have any pics?

also said it was shower over a bath but a little bit of a strange layout

ill check it out

Since you ask for something modern-ish, I can only recommend April Suites (in the first small soi off Second Rd. north of Pattaya Central Rd.) or August Suites (around the corner on Pattaya CEntral Rd.), roughly in the same area as the above mentioned, but closer to soi 7/8 than Soi 6. But from April, both places are within walking distance or a 30 baht motosai drive. I have just stayed 16 nights at April again, and it has kept its standard: Simple, modern, clean, ok wifi (free), nice staff. Nice little pool + fitness room on the roof. No joiner fee. I have seen a drunk, heavily sweating monger drag two quite nasty ladyboys with 5'o clock stubble up to his room in the late afternoon, so that is allowed as well (more than 1 guest, that is!)

The occupants are a mixture of white, Western mongers, young asian couples + a few arabs. Haven't seen any Russians there yet over 3 stays ...

for girl number 2... first one's free everywhere, and most hotels don't charge for a second or third guest either...

when you make your reservation, make it for two people...

The Citin Loft is part of the compass group of hotels in Asia

In Bkk I always stay at Grand President Sukumvit, soi 11.

I haven't stayed at Citin Loft yet, but have booked up for Aug

Its always cheaper with Compass hotel to book direct. I know sites like Asiarooms and Agoda are good for most hotels, but they can't beat the direct prices offered by Compass.
