Froch Kessler II

What is everyone's thoughts on the outcome of this tomorrow night? I personally cannot wait! Whilst Froch will be seen as clear favourite, I have a feeling Kessler will dig deep and take it. Froch seems way over-hyped for it.

Also a rematch of the world title eliminator between Tony Bellew and Isaac Chillemba on the card. I had the misfortune of being at the first fight, which I thought Bellew lost. Hopefully Bellew reverts to type and really goes for it.

Damn right

I'm looking forward to this one, very tight I reckon but if I was to pick someone I reckon Kessler might just shade it

Technically sound and one tough bastard , but I can't see a lot in it

Although I cry for Patts everyday tommorow is a great day for sport ,

Eng v NZ test match then champions league final then froch Kessler and finally Velasquez v Bigfoot in the ufc

Fuck me I'm gonna be pissed tommorow

Definitely. Froch's style (leaving his hands ridiculously low) attracts a good fight. I have followed him for years (well before he became "box office") and I genuinely love watching his fights. He was always undervalued by TV. I like Kessler as well, never comes across as a dick in interviews and seems a cool guy.

Haha same same! The pain of not being there will definitely be eased by tomorrows sporting entertainment!

should be a good fight, if it goes the distance i think froch will get the decision, Its well matched

fight . based on prearation and conditioning for the fight cant take anything from froch the guy puts

in 101% evry time. In saying that kesslers no mug and theres always the chance he might land a

few big shots. hard one to call but i would just edge for froch.

Great fight and I'm happy that HBO will be showing it live here in the USA. I really can't pick a winner and see this as a pretty even match-up. A lot of people think Kessler might have lost a step and he's only fought 3 times, against limited opponents, since their last fight. But he's still looked good in those fights, stopping all three guys. Perhaps the time off to let his eye heal could help in that he is fresher. I think Kessler is a technically better boxer than Froch. Kessler can crack too, but Froch has shown a pretty good chin to date and has the home crowd. Should be a good one.

Your right there. His chin is pure granite. I cant remember seeing a boxer take shots like he does yet stays upright.

Kessler is a class act .  Took everything that Joe Calzaghe could throw at him  , but may just be on the downside of the hill . We'll see .

Did you just see the weigh in?

Kessler looks like an evil bastard!!!

I'm putting my neck on the line and saying Kessler to KO froch in the 7th

But I do want Carl to prove me wrong...

Think this will also be a career ender for one of the fighters. Kessler is gonna go for it, no question about that, but to be nearly 2lb under the weight limit is a bit surprising. Froch is as good as dead on the limit. If Kessler does lose I can see him throwing in the towel for good and to a lesser extent Froch as well. If Froch is beaten then he has nowhere to turn, maybe a few domestic tear ups with Groves, Degale etc but a win for The Cobra and maybe another shot at (for me) the best boxer out there right now, Andre Ward

His decimation of Froch a couple of years ago was a sight to behold. Boxing at its finest. Mayweather-esqe! I think Froch knew after 3 or 4 rounds that night he didnt stand a chance

You guys are right, it'll be a good fight. Going back to Thailand within a week, and hosting an evening football / boxing night tonight, with 6 mates.

Actually Kessler has been to Pattaya a number of times to train (a family friend used to own a danish restaurant in South Pattaya, right behind Tony's gym).

I've bumped into him once in Tony's gym as well, (surprised me, he was that small), he really is a class act, a very humble focussed guy.

I think Froch will edge it, but anything could happen, should be a good tear up. i am a Froch fan, as he is from Nottingham like me, and i have been to a number of his fights in Nottingham, so i hope he wins.

One hell of a fight froch was class, he got rocked in the 11th but still never went down. Ref nearly stopped it in the 12th Kessler was getting battered. Two great warriors both have chins like granite.

Hopefully a rematch the Andre ward next for froch but I can't see him coming over to England to fight he dosnt fight out of America

Posted

Yer froch did well last night, he did us proud. ward wont come to the uk to fight froch and if he did he would beat froch, frochs good but not the same class as ward.

Excellent fight, as was their first. When you have two guys willing to mix it up and each perhaps a little vulnerable defensively, it's usually a good recipe for action. Congratulations to Froch and props to both guys. Kessler was very accurate when he threw, but Froch just plain outworked him. Froch was missing wildly at times, but Kessler couldn't make him pay. The 11th was something. Froch just doesn't go down, amazing chin. I can only remember seeing him get knocked down once (Taylor).

With their respective styles, these two will always make for a great fight. However, neither can handle Ward's style and Ward can handle their's. So, I don't see a rematch with Ward ending any differently. Froch has gotten a lot of exposure here in the USA with the tournament Showtime put on and yesterday's fight was shown live on HBO. Be interesting to see what Froch will do next. Kessler is always a class act and a credit to the sport. If he chooses to retire, good luck to him.
