Soi Nern Plabwaan

Hey have you ever thought to try the other side of the tracks? Soi 53 off Sukhamvit, some call it Soi Muslim and the taxi drivers sometimes call it shooting alley, dont know why? Here is some of the venues.......

Number of bars on Nern Plabwaan Plaza which is a square off to the right just past the train tracks. Cannot comment on them not somewhere I frequent.

Lucky Time Bar on the right opposite soi 11, food is great, free pool, air con, no girls (except bar staff) but a nice place to go for a change

Oasis1 on the opposite soi 25, one of three oasis bars, very friendly open air bar, girls are great fun, Mark and Ann the owners join in the drinking and make you at home, free pool and often parties.

Karaoke Pub, on the left between soi 37 and soi 39, not been but heard good reports.

Black Bush Bar, opposite the Karaoke Pub, very friendly and welcoming, the staff are great but not really a girlie bar.

Road House Bar, on the right, on the corner of Naviporn Place, the heavy drinkers den but can be pleasant for a chillout with other farangs.

Steak House restaurant, great steaks at half the price of those on the good side of town.

Pussycats Bar, on the left opposite Soi 22, Anyas the gaffer and she makes the place, great girls, some katoys, pool (not free), and short time rooms

BG Bar, girls are friendly, bear is cheap, not as busy or as pushy as most beer bars, Mickey is the gaffer (actually his missus I think)

Chill Cafe, on the left opposite the new family mart, great snack food and more throughout the day

Oasis 3, on the right opposite soi 43 (i think), like the other two oasis bars well worth a visit

Next door to oasis 3 is an open air thai run bar with giant tv and good thai food just for a change, the gaffer is Shawn

Opposite is the Ring Thip Thai food and Steak restaurant, food is excellent, prices are even better

Just in soi 45 is two thai style karaoke great fun if you already have company not if not, and they go all night sometimes

Just past soi 45 is a thai snooker bar, avoid it!!

Back opposite next door to the massage parlour is Frostys, Lisa and Dave make this little open air bar well worth a visit

Same block at the end is the Sunrise Cafe best UK style snacks going, often ther for a bacon butty

On the left on the corner of Soi 47 Banlang Road is the Crossroads Bar, Peter and Nin are the gaffers, lots of girls (often booked out), few katoys, definately one of my favourites

Up the road opposite is Jimmys Fishing park, dont do much fishing but the bar is a great tranquil den to get away chew the cud and have a few san migs

Further down on the left is oasis 2, the last of the oasis bars in this street again free pool and B49 beer

Thats about it the road ends at the temple and 7/11.

The only other place that I need to mention is the beer bar with girls and a swimming pool, but i dont want too many people there so you will have to email me for directions if you want to go...... hehehe.

Again not as chaotic and crazy as the beach road and its sois, or the metro, or Walking Street all of which i frequent much too often but for a change once a month, come over, who knows..............

Sunshine.

PS anyone needs a guide or a drinking chum give me a shout.

Comprehensive coverage, thanks for posting, I'm trying to recall where Soi 53 is, if driving from Pattaya Nua towards Jomtien along Sukhumvit, where is it located? How long is the soi from Sukhumvit to temple? Sounds like there are some interesting places, will have to pay a vist next year!

To find soi Nern Phlab Waan. Come up Pattaya Klang (Middle Rd) from Beach Rd, when you reach Sukumvit Rd turn left and then quickly Right by the 7/11 store. It is quit a long Soi.

Just a quick warning, going across Sukhamvit at that point is not permitted although everybody does it, got an B800 fine a couple of weeks ago for doing just that on my bike. The constable was waiting behind the phone box and just stopping one in maybe 50 mainly farangs. You can go another 500 metres along Sukhamvit and there is a legal U turn point. Soi Nern Plab Waan is 4ks long from T to T.

Thanks for follow ups, I've been done for illegal u-turn elsewhere, same thing, everyone does it, wasn't even obvious that it was illegal, nice earner for cop shop, 400Bt in my case.. Will head up there in New Year, thanks.
