We investigate traffic complaints from our viewers.

 

Our office has received a number of complaints from drivers concerning two traffic hotspots in Pattaya which they would like us highlight. The first relates to an area of road in front of Soi Neun Pleub Wan on the Sukumvit Road in Central Pattaya. This area has been the subject of a number of road modifications over the last few years as authorities attempt to make the area safe and improve the traffic flow. The current road layout does not permit a right hand turn into Soi Neun Pleub Wan from the Northern side of the Sukumvit Road. However many motorbike drivers are ignoring the “No Right Turn” signs to avoid u-turning at the next available intersection. This is causing traffic confusion and the potential for serious accidents as Cars and Trucks are having to deal with smaller vehicles coming from every direction.

The second complaint relates to the Baht Buses who operate along Pattaya Beach Road, who continue to cause traffic congestion, especially at night. They also disregard traffic laws and will often illegally stop on Red and White lines and wait for customers. This is clear to see near the entrance to Walking Street where many Baht Buses will park-up to wait for customers in the full glare of the Traffic Police on duty at the entrance to Walking Street. We have today sent a copy of the pictures which accompany this report to the Mayor’s Office at Pattaya City Hall for their consideration.

i always do a right turn there but only late at night, the day time would be suicide! very good point about beach road, it can take 30 minutes in a baht bus to get from soi 7-8
