Hi,

 

first time i was in BKK i took the public transit and it was very economical.

this time i will be leaving BKK on a 0800hr flight.

I believe i need to be at the airport 2 hours ahead.

However, the trains don't start till 0600 hours

can someone advise on a good solution.

 

Probably a hotel with free airport shuttle?  will it go at 0500 hours?

or do i have to hire a taxi/shuttle on my own?

We are talking Pattaya or Bangkok?

If Pattaya Page 10 will have a hotel car pick you up... .but I think the going rate is around 1500 baht for the service.....it's a long drive I'm pretty sure all the hotels will charge for a pick up.

Hire a taxi by Mr. T, its easy and coast you  about 1.000 bath

Take a night at Florida hotel in Bangkok for 30$ and it sits right on station to airport and takes half hour to airport.

Will be leaving from Bangkok.  was stated in second line.

Oldfu i will check the florida hotel.  TravelAdvisor.com came up with a list i was just looking if anyone had any better advice since i didn't want to be stranded near the hotel with nothing to do.

 

trying to find one close to public trans to get there the night before and take the hotel transit in the wee morning hours of 0500hours.

I also had an unfortunate 830am departure.  It is a SHIT time to depart.

 

Take a taxi.  250 baht....hardly expensive.  Flag one down on sukhumvit road not from the hotel else you will pay double.

 

"Sanambin soowannaboom"  meter meter ok?   Thinkin ur a local.

thanks for the suggestion.  did not think it to be that cheap.  i will ask once i arrive there.

 

Jumpybongo: "BKK"  IS the airport code.  I did not think i was being "snippity" but apologize if it seemed to for those that did reply to my message.  I assumed most people read their itineries and an airport code is usually on there next to the city airport spelled out.  also: you pasted my initial posting...  not my "retort"... which again, spells out "Bangkok".

 

I DO APPRECIATE HELP.... however, your response does not sound well-intended and possibly incorrect.

from what i understand: Mr. T taxi is a service straight from BKK to Pats. I just need something to get me from Sukhumvit Rd to the BKK airport!

just in case anyone was curious to the end result..

 

I took LRanger's advice as it was most convenient.

I stayed near soi cowboy and the taxi ride was indeed no more than 250THB.... direct from hotel!
