Nakluaâ€™s Wan Lai Day Experiences Mild Drought

There seemed to be less tourists compared to past years who participated in this year’s Wan Lai (extended Songkran for Pattaya) festival in Naklua. Vendors anticipate large crowds buying food and merchandise, which generate a lot of revenue for the Naklua community.

PATTAYA – April 18, 2013 [PDN]: at 2 p.m., the numbers of Thais and foreigners were gradually building who came to do battle in the annual water wars in the extended 2013 Songkran of Naklua (Wan Lai).

However, participation by the water throwers has not been really vigorous, compared to the past years. Along Naklua road of every year when it comes to the Wan Lai festival, there would be a lot of cars and trucks driving on the road, which were equipped with water splashing equipment to play water wars in the spirit of fun.

This made the local entrepreneurs bring their goods to sell and created a lot of revenue for Naklua. But this year, it appeared to be that overall, the water splashing activity wasn’t vigorous like in the past years. The Wan Lai seemed to mainly occur in some segments of Naklua’s main street.

Possible reasons for this year’s dip may be the rumors circulating that Songkran would be prohibited or greatly restricted. So perhaps many people decided to wait for the next day on April 19, for Pattaya’s Wan Lai day, to get wet and wild.

For those that don't know, I did Friday meetings before many years ago, I feel like we are missing a regular meeting for members, I am aware guys meet at PA affiliated bars. But I want to start meeting people again, I'm inviting the guys following my YouTube also.
