So the countdown has begun again....80 days until I head to Thailand for my 2nd trip.

 

Already decided on The Sandy Springs on Soi 13 for my stay in Pattaya.

 

However, undecided as to where I should stay in Bangers. Last time, I stayed at the Ibis on the same street as Nana Plaza, which was good, but would like any suggestions please, as to a good, girl-friendly hotel that is walking distance from both the plaza and Cowboy.

 

I am looking at the Ramada Encore, which looks ok, but don't know if it is girl friendly.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated....thanks.

City lodge on soi 19.

I have stayed there many times never any problems rite in the middle of both locations.

Breakfast is good and the coffee is great.

 

Price is reasonable I usually take a deluxe room but the standard rooms are fine.

I am rather fond of Kingston Suites on Soi 15 about halfway between Nana and Soi Cowboy. But no swimming pool if that matters.

You might get more responses in you ask in the BKK hotel section. ;-)

Always stay at the Dawin myself (next door to the Ibis you mentioned), but I spend way more time at NEP than Soi Cowboy, so the occasional BTS ride there or taxi back isn't a bother when only heading to SC for a change of scenery.

If being within easy walking distance of both is important, check out the map on wotif and that'll throw up plenty of other options in between, together with giving you the ability to filter by room rates etc.

Soi 8 is a great place to stay.  Its a short easy 5 minute walk up to Nana, its across the road from Soi 7 and 7/1. And a 10 minute walk down to Soi Cowboy.  The escalator up to Nana BTS is right at the end of the Soi.

 

Siam Inn on the corner is good basic accomm for 1000 a night.

 

Citadines down the soi (have own tuk tuk to drop and pickup) has great rooms for 1800 a night

 

Soi 8 Pub is really nice

 

BJ shop down a side soi.

 

Even has a Tapas and coffee bar now....

 

 

A perfect location.

Only ever stayed in Maxims Inn Soi 7/1 on my 3 previous visits which is in a similar price range & was spot on.

Why not try www.thaihoteldiscounts.com  ? They guy who runs it is affiliated to Agoda. All the hotels listed are "guest friendly" and the service on the site is very efficient. I use it all the time and have never had any problems. You can even drop the guy an email and he will let you know if there are any special deals in operation. His name is Tim and I've found him to be very efficient and professional.

 

For your information, I've booked Kingston Suites, Furama Xclusive Asoke, Darjelling and Citidanes Soi 11 through this site. Would recommend any of them, but it depends on your budget. Would concur with an earlier post that Kingston Suites on Soi 15 is a great choice, but it depends on what price you get it for. I stayed there for three nights last week and got a last minute special deal as I wanted to get away from the mayhem in Pattaya. It usually costs about 1,700 Baht per night. If you are asked for more, you might want to check out some of the others.

Stayed at majesticsuites and it is now my #1 choice when staying in Bangkok.

Over 20 years staying there and it still makes me laugh, yes I know the staff can be a bit grumpy but you can pretty much do what the fuck you like no questions.

Also the fun cabaret if you are sitting in reception very late, all the coming (arf!) and going I love it!

I always stay at the Nana Hotel, because I like to have a room with a proper bathtub, and the buffet breakfast is great and included in the very reasonable price.   Good swimming pool too, on the 3rd floor.    My wife finds the close proximity of Nana Plaza a bit off-putting, though, so when I am with her we will stay at City Lodge on Soi 19.   She has stayed there before, and says the location is great, being next to the BTS Skytrain and the MRT tube station.   It is also very handy for the new Terminal 21 department store, which she loves, so we will be eating in their food hall.   When I get the chance I will probably sneak away to Soi Cowboy in the evening, since it is straight across Asoke Road by the MRT underpass.   Both hotels are Guest Friendly, of course.  

The Nana because even at 60 I am the youngest guy there!

Thanks for all the replies you blokes. I have some research to do. I loathe travelling in taxis, so its important to have both areas within reasonable walking distance.

FWIW I always stay at Dynasty Inn Bangkok. Right next to NEP, guest friendly, English from staff is good, and for 1580 baht a night which is cheap for me I get the real nice rooms at the back. Bar is open 24/7 and serves good food too.

The White Orchid 2 is just a two minute walk from Nana.  750 baht per night on second floor.  Not fancy, but clean and girl friendly.  

I stay in BKK often and stay as follows (on or around Soi Nana)

 

If I am there just one night stay at Woraburi. Its cheap and cheerful. Rooms small but decent. I would not recommend it for long term stays. Breakfast is decent for the price but you have to get there early or the better stuff goes.

 

Longer stays - if paying myself - The Dawin ALWAYS! I really cant fault this place at the price.

 

Longer stays - if client paying - Landmark. 5 star but very guest friendly and the best buffet breakfast I have had in BKK. No need to get there early here as they replenish everything.

 

I have also stayed (once) at Heaven@4 on a friends recommendation. If you like "modern boutique" style this is good for you. Awesome bathroom but the rooms just too small for me. Would happily recommend it though. Guest friendly.

Ah yes in fact I had two girls back one famous enjoyable afternoon.....and it does have a very small lift.  Maxims is just a bit jammed up soi 7/1.  Soi 8 is way better. Can even walk down to Insomnia just past Soi 10.

I have usually stayed at City Lodge Soi19 or Darjelling Boutique (for the same reason that PadTheLad's wife likes to stay there). I enjoy NEP and Soi Cowboy also and either are easy to get to by whatever form of transport you wish to use.

Using the "big" head, NOT only the "little" head can perhaps help in making good choices?  

I used to use Sandy Springs in Pattaya and on my last two visits, 2012 and last month, I have chosen Dynasty Inn (just a few doors away from Sandy Springs) as I found the rooms at Sandy Springs were getting a bit dilapidated!

 

All are girl friendly.

The Grand Millenium is right next to Soi Cowboy but its a little too expensive. Stayed there 3 weeks ago it was nice and girl friendly.

Just checked out your link to Kingston Suites and noticed it has a swimming pool now. Haven't stayed there for almost 2 years now and I wonder where they put the swimming pool?

 

When I travel to Bangkok I usually stay for 5 weeks or more. With that length of stay I find it worthwhile to rent a condo. I get a much better price/quality combination by going this route. The problem is getting a good location as the choice is much more limited than hotel rooms. For my next trip I have a one-bedroom condo about a 5-minute walk from Asoke BTS station (near Terminal 21 mall) for a price that works out to be about 1300 baht a day. I doubt that I could get a hotel room of similar quality for anywhere near 2000 baht a day.

One that no-one has mentioned (I don't think) is Paradiso Boutique Suites on Soi 10. Close to both locations. Has separate shower and bath. Looks nice. Between $50 and $65 a night (aussie)

I would recommend Ruamchitt Plaza (the new renovated rooms). New clean spacious rooms with nice view and a rooftop pool. 1500 THB. Located between sois 13 and 15 right upstairs of Thermae club/bar (lots of hotties there).

I'm a big fan of Sois 8 and 11.

 

On Soi 8 Stable Lodge best captures the cool vibe of the soi, especially if you grab one of the rooms at the front (the soi is very chilled and quiet after midnight)m with a nice street side/poolside bar to get you warmed up every night.
