Can anyone advise if they have stayed here recently and what is it like, please do'nt confuse it with the AA pattaya hotel as they are different whilst in the same Soi, if the recommendations arent up to scratch what is the page 10 or the arcea hotel like, i know they are quite a bit more expensive, but wanted to get some idea about the AA pattaya residence first.

AA is an hotel about 20 years old, without large renovation, i stay 2 times there, rooms are compact and you have a nice view from the pool, on the same street i prefer The Haven, just backside the AA, actually Ma Maison is about 1400 bahts, also a good choice, Areca and Page are certainly better but quite 2 times more expensive.

I stayed at the AA Residence for a month in Feb. and it is fine. The elevator has some ugly scroll in it but the rooms were good for the price and location. I paid a bit extra and stayed in one of the backside rooms which is quite a bit larger and didn't reek of cigarette smoke. The backside rooms face soi 12 whereas the standard rooms face the Lek Hotel and Wonderful 2 bar which has loud music into the wee hours.

 

The standard room was 1100 baht and the back side was 1500 but I got them down to 1300 with no difficulty. Pattaya has been absolutely dead this Songkran and none of the hotels appeared to be full(yes I asked at a few).

 

I'm in the Sandy Spring now, just across the street and it is much nicer but 1700/night with the discount card that costs 350 baht.

I stayed in that hotel for 4 years, good quite hotel in the middle of Soi 13. The hotel is 20 or 30 years old the best feature was the pool on the roof with some sun cover, regardless how hot it gets there is always a breeze blowing up there which will be a welcomed addition with the start of summer, Also good to have a few drinks between dipping in the pool that stays open till 10pm. Think you can still get rooms from 800 to about 1200 THB per night.

The only part of the hotel I would advise against is the optional 100 THB hotel breakfast, it is cold mushy shit.

 

Plenty of places to eat in Pattaya, and I recommend to walk across the Soi to the Sportsman's Bar, all sports on the big screens, pool table and they have really good meals for breakfast .lunch and dinner with a baked roast carvery every Sunday.

Sure there are better Hotels in Pattaya but why waste 1000THB extra on other hotel rooms, that money would be better spent to pay for a LT or ST. Personally I don't plan my holidays around the hotel room, it is just a place to sleep and fuck.

There are two!  One on the left facing the sea...............one on the right.   I have stayed in the one on the left.  The big rooms are good and spacious overlooking the sea and the pool...........the small ones are a small fuck pad useful as an extra place that your GF or regular BG does not know about.

The one on the right is scruffier but a bit larger with a variety of room including corner rooms with balcony.  Cheap but cheerless.
