Police arrested a vendor who sold noodles for 300 baht per package with a hidden meth pill inside. She was arrested before for dealing drugs, but was broke and needed money to support two daughters, and also repay loan sharks she borrowed from to fight the case.

SATTAHIP – April 14, 2013 [PDN]; at 10 a.m., an arrest of a noodle vendor for meth dealing was made by Mr. Phawat Lertmukda, Sattahip Sheriff, with Mr. Chawat Teptup, security general secretary, and special operation officers from the National Command Center for Drugs.

The suspect was identified as Ms. Kwanjai Prayongsin, or Jae Nong, 39 years old, the owner of a noodles shop. She was arrested in a rental room with no number, soi Municipality 13, moo 5, Bangsare, Sattahip, Chonburi.
Police had entrapped her with an undercover lure purchase.

After her arrest, police seized 72 tablets of meth and a 500 baht banknote used in the undercover purchase. Mr. Phawat Lertmukda, Sattahip Sheriff, revealed that he had information before that the suspect had been arrested for selling drugs to a well-known national sailboat athlete on October 15, 2012.

She had bailed herself out to fight in court, and went back to selling noodles again. Police followed and observed her for several months until they knew she returned to sell drugs again.

She pretended to sell noodles, but she sold drugs by inserting 1 tablet per pack of noodles, which she sold for 300 baht: 50 for noodles and 250 for meth. The packages were known as “300 baht noodles” in the circle of junkies.

So the police planned to entrap her by sending a spy to buy from her 2 packs of noodles, and then arrested her. From searching in the room, police found 70 tablets of meth contained in a black plastic bag tied by a rubber band to a chair’s leg, so the police seized it as evidence.

Ms. Kwanjai confessed that after she got arrested last year, she started to worry about her daughters, who were just kids. So she borrowed from a loan shark to fight the charges in court. And with the burden of providing for her daughters and repaying the debt, she had nowhere to run.

So she returned to sell drugs again. She bought her meth supply from a Mrs. Na, 25 years old, from Tunglaharn, Huay Yai, Banglamung. But Ms. Na had sensed the police were closing in, and gone away from the area. The police brought Ms. Kwanjai and the evidence to the detective officers, and charged her for possession of Type-1 drugs for sale and selling.

Well, I've heard of fast food but that's ridiculous!

Definitely not a healthy choice of cuisine.

Looking at her eyes, looks like she has been eating he own  "noodles".

When I lived in Texas they had a subway fast food place that would sell weed. Would ask for a foot long mary for a ounce or a 6inch for half ounce bag. Not sure how long they were doing it but I had heard about it about year and half before police shut down the place for dealing drugs.
