@ Home at Udon Hotel in Udon Thani

Featured Replies

@ Home at Udon Hotel located 1/11 Sampanthamit Road, Muang, Udon Thani 4100

I stayed at the @ Home at Udon Hotel in March for 790 baht per night for deluxe room.  The standard room with double bed appears identical except for size and was 550 baht.  This is a nice choice if you want a nice somewhat less expensive room in Udon Thani.  The hotel staff are very helpful and some speak English well.

Agree with all of the OPs comments - others worth a try are Irish Clock and Top Mansion (both same soi as @Home).

I too have stayed at all of these places...

@Home is a good and new, modern style choice on that street and we enjoyed several stays there over a period of months. Clean property, helpful staff, English speaking, etc etc. I think we usually paid around 590b per night. They don't serve any breakfast there, but are just a block up the street from the Pannarai Hotel, which has a quite good western breakfast buffet that's open to non-guests for something like 150b per person.

As a hotel, @Home is IMHO much better than Top Mansion or Irish Clock.

Irish Clock, fyi, is more of a pub and a restaurant than a hotel, though they do have rooms upstairs. The larger rooms are quite nice and reasonably priced. But when we stayed there, we had nothing but trouble with poor wifi reception, which was a big no-no in my book. The food at Irish Clock, however, is excellent, and they open in the morning for breakfast at about 8 am.

Another really good choice, just a few blocks down from the Central Plaza mall on Prajak Road is The One Residence, usually around 550b per night. And pretty similar to @Home in terms of being new, clean, comfortable, etc. It's about a 5 minute walk from the mall, but there's less going on around the hotel itself.

Whereas @Home is on Samphantamit Street, which is one block over from the mall and one of the more concentrated streets for small hotels, bars, restaurants, etc. as well as the Udon Day & Night bar complex.

But if you want a similar room and don't mind being in a more Thai area but still very close in the center of town, the best bargain and deal we found was the Udon Perfect Mansion on Adulyadej Road for about 400b per night. Again, a new building with English speaking manager, good wifi and air con.

It's also about a 5 minute walk to the Central Plaza mall, but you get there by walking along a little used back road that runs through the Chinese temple complex that adjoins the mall. The entryway on the mall side is right behind the mall, where you''ll see the entry arches to the temple. Just walk right through there (don't worry, it's fine) and the road goes thru the temple grounds and exits out onto Adulyadej. Turn right onto Adulyadej and Udon Perfect is one short block up the street on the right hand side.

You can book @Home and Irish Clock on Agoda. Udon Perfect I believe you have to contact directly by phone and I don't believe they have their own website, though you can find info about them at various Udon websites. The One Residence has their own website at theoneud dot com.

Thaiguyinla - that is a really good post...I live in Udon for a large part of the year and i didn't know what you know. Very helpful and informative post. :ThumbUp6:
