BACK Bites Back! – Gets a malicious and fake book review

Last year when it was revealed that famous British author Stephen Leather had cheerfully admitted to marketing his novels by causing controversy through fake internet postings on Amazon and elsewhere, and another bestselling British author, RJ Ellory was caught out doing it and admitted to slagging the works of other authors online, I would never have thought my own novel might be the subject of similar practices.

I take the view that BACK is an excellent read, and that people will genuinely positively review it, and if I have deluded myself and it’s actually a pile of shit, then people can go and genuinely constructively criticise it. (I have to say everyone who’s read both parts of BACK think it’s the former not the latter, by the way).

One misapprehension is to think that BACK is a war novel. It’s not. It’s a modern-day backpacker thriller, but some groundwork for it is set in 1968 during the Vietnam War, hence my site’s content.

The other mistake is to assume that because I present aspects of the Vietnam War to a new generation of readers without moralising or editorialising it to death on my site, that somehow I am “pro-war’.
