The body of a 57 Year old American Song writer and music producer , Tim Carr, has been reported as being found in his rented South Pattaya home under what Police describe a suspicious circumstances

 

Recognised as one of those who helped Thai musician Sek Loso take his music from Thailand to the world and who worked with such bands as The Beastie Boys, Megadeath and Ash, the former executive with A& R records was found with deep knife wounds to the chest by his landlord who entered the home after failing to get a response at the door.

Police noted the remnants of what appeared to have been recent drug use and removed a considerable amount of prescription medicine as the body was removed for a local autopsy by Ambulance servicemen who attended the scene. Local Expats who knew him report that he had been down of heart recently.

The local Police Chief for the region attended the scene and ensured that the state of the room, which was in disarray, together with blood stains was recorded and it will now be decided at the post mortem examination exactly how he died and whether other were involved in his demise.

A facebook page has been started on Friday by friends who are still in shock at his death.

Looks like suicide again.

RIP Tim Carr,,,, He lives in Pratumnak hill soi 4  , i have condo near him at soi 6 , supposed to be a very quiet area, Not anymore now, The Russians was assaulted somewhere there few months ago.  I used to walk home every night at 4am or 5am after jumping off the bahtbus at Manhattan Steak House, 600  metres walk home.   Wont do it in my next trip.

Russians? I am an old friend of Tim's in the States. It seems odd to me that he would not recognize dangers around him; he was ver savy, very smart and had been an expat for decades.

I think that the poster was attempting to be sarcastic....

I believe that you were thrown off by his lack of tact and his wealth of disrespect for the deceased and loved ones...

Yes, he was being sarcastic as there are seems to be a handful of suspicious farang deaths in thailand each year.  Usually from someone "jumping" from a multi-level hotel or apartment.

Sad loss to his family and the music fraternity.

 

Carr made his name working in A&R for Capitol records, and was responsible for signing Beastie Boys after they left Def Jam. He also worked with the likes of Babes In Toyland, David Byrne, Megadeath and Joan Jett and Ash. He was working on a movie about a rock band at the time of his death.

 

Butch Vig said: "He was one of the kindest, funniest, and smartest people I ever met.
 We would talk for hours about politics, films, food, culture, and of course music. He will be missed!"

I seen the graphic uncensored video and its definitely suspicious!

Sounds suspicious but plausible that he did himself in. Under the use of drugs, it's quite possible to commit suicide with a knife. The Japanese have been doing it for generations, called Seppuku or something like that. It's just a shame he didn't get help if he was, indeed, having problems. One of the drawbacks of living in Thailand, not much help available for mental problems. In any case, I think the police will come up with an explanation of what happened. (Sure hope so)
