NASA plans to capture, move asteroid

Washington - The US space agency NASA hopes to capture and move an asteroid into orbit around the moon as part of plans to send astronauts to an asteroid by 2025, NASA said Wednesday in its budget proposal.

Sooner or later a large destructive asteroid will strike the earth as they have a number of times in the past. We need to develop the technologies necessary to deal with this or perish. This is also why we need to develop a presence on other worlds in order to ensure the survival of the race of mankind. We need to unite the resources of the world in this quest. Including TBGs.

As a USA citizen I favor transferring funds from the Dept. of Defense to NASA to provide funding for this enterprise. This would certainly piss some people off!

I'm super excited about the prospect of exploiting asteroid resources. Anything that gets us out into space more is a plus in my book.
