My friend recently sent a request to the Thai consulate in DC and he was told that they were not giving out any retirement visa.

Has anyone else had this problem? it will another 10 years before I can retire and move there, so sad. I want to stay informed on what's happening in Thailand.

 

 

In Pattaya now, had horrible flu for 2 days, now I have a throat like Mahatmagandhis flip flop. Very painful, especially when I cough. What is the best stuff to buy for a sore throat. I have tried halls etc, not cutting it.

 

I doubt whether you can find a place for 10K anywhere near the beach in Jomtien. The closer you get to the beach, the higher the price.

10k/wk. is 40k/month. Should be something available though condos often have a six month minimum.

For 40k per month, you should be able to find mansion in Jomtien. I thought it was referring to 10K per month, not per week. I see that I didn't read the post carefully.

got the price wrong should say 10k month not week  wiil go up to 13k if i like area close to all.

You are going to be very hard pressed to find anything for 10k per month in Jomtien.
