Australian Tourist Visa Subclass 600 Successful

Featured Replies

This thread is a carry over from below link. The Aussie gov changed the form and Visa subclass so I've started a new thread with correct title. Below thread you should be read to give you background on Aussie Visa applications for TG. It has all info to consider for  an application. Also hit scumbag and other BM's up, as they have great knowledge to help you. Pretty much everything you need to DIY Visa is in here. The forms and what to submit.

http://www.pattaya-ad dicts.com/forum/topic/104714-48r-successful-tourist-visa-application-to-australia-for-thai-girlfriend/page-5

I just got the second application for tourist accepted/approved. I wanted mulitple entry so I could send her back and bring her back anytime I wanted in a 12month period between me visting LOS also..... but it looks like Julia is shutting the gate on honest people yet letting people sail into our harbours for fun.

I can't understand why they would stop multiple entry visits which ultimately brings money into the country. When really sending home tourists is of no benefit to the economy for the chump change of a 150 bucks in a visa application. It makes no sense to me and maybe justifys someones job for political reason only. It makes no sense they allow backpackers 12month visa's who have no income at all. The correlation between to 2 is too far apart.

I've successfully got TG a visa for 3 months on the old visa 48r. She was here all of 2 months and 9 days. I applied for multiple entry this time on a 12 months visa. Hoping I could ship her back when she pissed me off like all women do. They instead gave her the same visa as last with the 2 more conditions added. Last time it was only no further stay, now they added she can't study and can't work. Which is the rule anyway.

So in retrospect the TG has proved once she won't overstay, she will have spent a total of nearly 3 months back in thailand before she comes back to OZ and they give you the same "untrustworthy" visa, treating you worse then a boat person in Geraldton.

My documents this time were a bit laid back then last time, pretty simple. I think you'd submit more if you went for a home loan. I did however get feedback that they do check you the falangs visits. In TG's evidence of relationship I/she had said I'd be in town in March being the same month as application date and when they called TG they did say Mr Falang is not here yet. I arrive this week, so I was out by 2 weeks, but I was suprised they did check out my details. I had said that because I wanted to get the application in before easter/songkrans holidays and to show I was being a nice falang loving TG per the efforts to prove a relationship bla bla. Obvioulsy thinking it would be quickly looked over, not checked like it was gospel.

I don't think it mattered as they still gave her the visa. I've had 6 visits in the last 12 months so I'm sure it outweighed it somewhat.

Attached is picture of the Visa notification letter, I'm trying to understand what they mean by last entry date, I'll call immigration tomorrow to find out. As last time I was lead to the understanding that the minute they issued you the Visa you had 3 months from that date. So there seems to be some ambiguous notions around this.

In conclusion, I'm happy but also not happy, as this means more visa applications and I don't love TG enough to apply for spouse or prospective spouse, so where does this leave anyone trying to work on a relationship at all? More trips to LOS---Haha Can't be that bad??? LOL

Food for thought. I hope this helps some.

They instead gave her the same visa as last with the 2 more conditions added. Last time it was only no further stay, now they added she can't study and can't work. Which is the rule anyway.

Those two conditions are the same as on the previous visa. The only change seems to be that they have decided to state them on the approval letter. It states 'study limitation' which only means that she can not study for more than 3 months on the visa. This is one of the requirements of a tourist visa as is not being able to work. So there is no change.

The 'last day to arrive' is the expiry date of the visa. As long as she arrives on that day or before she should be given 3 months in Australia. If she travels after that day she will not be allowed to board the flight.

You really need to put thing s into perspective and stop listening to what the political parties want you to believe. They know that there are votes in this, unlike with people who overstay their visas. Sorry but I really think that the Australian public have been given a bum steer on 'asylum seekers'.

Even with a large increase in asylum seekers in 2011 there are only 6500 of them in detention (source). In 2010 there were about 53 900 visa over-stayers in the country at any one time (source).

If you really feel that way about Australia maybe it is time for you to move on. I personal find your attitude to the country that you live in repugnant.

I agree. If this place is such a shit-hole and a nanny state, blah blah blah, then piss off. Having travelled to 80 countries (and stayed for an extensive period in quite a few), Australians still have it pretty good.

FYI, Australia ranks pretty low for total number of asylum seekers, well behind the US, Canada and UK and not even in the top 20.

Anyway, back to the topic....

Correct Scumbag, I can confirm immigration says the Visa is not activated until she arrived in Australia. Which is contrary to last time when I checked.

'

Locally they were suprised only a 3monther was issued considering she had complied with her conditions last time. Maybe someone in the embassy was having a shit day.

ummm

Just to add, The Officer will give as they feel fit 3m , 6m,  12month, normally after 3m they give 6m depending on the strength of the application and length of relationship and how long your partner has been in Thailand after returning from there 1 st visa

After a 3m holiday we normally wait 1 month before applying for 6m and tend to be successful, but 12m are very difficult and the case has to be fairly strong now for them to give.

The UK rules are 1 x visa 1 x year so 6 months in a 12 months period, so after returning you tend to have to wait 6 months before reapplying, with the Aussies you wait 1 month which to me is alot fairer.

If you want to look at shit holes by the way have a trip to the UK it is hard to find someone who speaks English, and I am a Brit.

Thanks Key Visa. Valid points. But now your talking Historically on the old system/forms. Let me know how you go in 6 months.

I'm not happy with a public servant handing me another 3 month. I've evaluated their crap.

I think I said it before,,you got to tell these people how to do their job

Just a note - Anyone ever cancel a visa and re-apply cause they are stubborn like me?

Edited by Swinga

Swinga, it has been the same for years and years and I have plenty to prove it, I have been in this position on a business level before were a customer was not given as much as they wished for which can be frustrating,

But I have always been in the frame of mind that, the Embassy fee is the same be it 3m or 6m or 12m which is fare by the Aussies and to get a visa is better than no visa at all mate,

Dont cut off your nose to spite your face "sorry a Pom saying" enjoy what is given and try again later for a longer stay,

Perhaps it was the case in the past but since I have been doing a bit of research (due to the new form) I have found something that I had not come across before. They are now clearly stating that a person can not be in Australia on a tourist visa for more than 12 months in any 18 month period. Other than this, and clearly stating a couple of other things on the visa letter, there is no change with this new form.

I can't remember ever talking to anyone how has applied for a visa shortly after returning to Thailand and been given anything other than a single entry 3 month visa.

Thanks key visa for all of your valuable information you have mentioned that it is advisable to wait a month from the TGF returning to Thailand before lodging an application for a further tourist visa and the prospects of receiving a 6 months visa are elevated

I do believe the application is strong because of my financial position and compliance with the conditions of the previous visa

I am splitting hairs here the date she is looking to lodge the application 17th April only after the songkran holidays 27 days after her return to Thailand or are you better to wait the 4 days till the month passes

We filled out the new forms and have requested a 6 month tourist visa

Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)

http://www.immi.gov.au/visas/visitor/600/

Key visa sorry I needed to add the reasons for timing of new applications I arrive Thailand 25th April I was really looking to bring her back to OZ if approved on the 5th of may

So it was to apply and hopefully have an answer before leaving Thailand but the truth of the matter if she had to come back here a little later we would have to work with that

Always rely on you to threadfuck a thread about a guy getting a tourist visa for his girlfriend with a lot of bigotted, ignorant nonsense about asylum seekers. If Australia's such a shithole, do us a favour, Billy, and feel free to fuck right off, mate.

Here's a blog from Kochie on what asylum seekers receive:

http://www.kochie.com.au/the-real-benefits-for-asylum-seekers-in-australia

Hopefully, they don't have to rely on SS for long and get jobs - I meet many driving cabs - but it can be difficult as they come from traumatised situations (child soldiers/civil wars etc) which is why they seek asylum in a fantastic country in the first place.

Here are the names of a few people wh came to Australia as refugees: Sir Frank Lowy, Les Murray (SBS), Justice Jim Spiegleman, comedian Ahn Do, Sir Gustav Nossal (scientist), Dr Karl from JJJ, actor Henry Szeps, Richard Pratt (Visy paper), Majak Daw (North Melbourn AFL player).

Anyway, enough theadfucking.

Icy, I can only advise from daily experience I have specialized in Aussie visas for nearly 13 years so you get a feel of how they think and what is required,

We always wait a month after a 3m trip and then apply for a 6m visa, requesting more time together as you MAY be considering marriage on your return to Thailand after 6m but wish for more time together "works for us anyway"

Key visa

  • 2 weeks later...

I was hoping to apply for a 12 month multiple entry visa again for the tgf. Although i would even accept a 6 month straight up one. back in 2011 i applied for a visa for the tgf I stated 3 months but checking the box that she would be willing to return to oz again.

I was in oz when the tgf went to bangkok to submit the application. 10-12hour bus ride for her she gets there and she has forgotten a letter of employment or evidence of employment. I specifically told her this is the key thing they need. Anyways these assholes still accepted the visa application and it got turned down. week later i flew to bangkok checked her papers cracked the shits hard at her for not putting in what i told her then i wrote one of the most nastiest letters you can think of to a government agency. 2 days later 12 month multiple entry visa with a letter of apology.

I was so pissed off to be fucked around but in the end it was ok.

We have both been living in thailand now for almost 6 months and I am bored shitless living up in issan. I tried living in pattaya but it created too many problems with girls so i think i wanna try do 6 months here and 6 months in oz. hopefully they accept a 6 months application as although she been home 6 months she did spend close to 12 months in oz.. time will tell anyways when i apply at the end of may.

Got food?

Mate they dont like people using the tourist visa to get around a partner visa. i think think at some time they will ask her to apply for it instead of the tourist visa. Can you let us know when that happens....

I know what your saying. We have been trying for a baby for almost 9 months now and nothing (she's 37 now also) the deal was really have the baby in thailand then apply to settle in oz at least for a few years.

the problem with the partner visa is although you are allowed to leave the country in the 2 years you are on temporary  visa if you leave for a total of 3 months or more then your not getting the visa. I really didn't want to be locked into that without a baby on board if you know what I mean. And now me living here for 6 months i'm not gonna wait another 12 months for a visa.

I think I should be fine with the 6 month one anyways. And as long as your honest with immigration they will grant you a visa unless being honest means your importing hookers to work in your parlour lol

Got food?

Personally I think she was lucky to get a visa after you submitted an abusive letter. This is never a good way of resolving an issue. They are within their rights to base their decision on the documents that are supplied with an application. It was not their fault that there was no employment letter.
