Mike's Mexican

Recommended Posts

Located in Soi 5 Thappraya Rd.

Went there the other night, the food was so-so for the price, with the servings a little on the light side IMO.  The service was ok, with the girl who took our orders, very pleasant, with a good command of spoken English.

I won't be rushing back, but by all means, all those Mex food critics out there should maybe give it a go for themselves.

What are the dishes like? Are there burritos and fajitas, like in a Western Mexican restaurant?

Have a look at the menu:

There is also Sam's in the Jomtien Complex.

There is also a branch of Sunrise Tacos in Jomtien:

The Blue Parrot on Soi 13/4 closed but apparently the space was taken over by Sue's Place and they are still serving the same menu as BP (same cook??).

I've eaten at all the Mexican food places mentioned above.

Mikes food tastes good but is overpriced (IMHO).

Chilli? - try the Lone Star Grill on Soi Lenke - I ate their fajitas last night (Saturday special for 189 baht) - I thought I saw chilli on the menu.

Sues Place was always next door to the BP.

Chili is not really Mexican.  It is a steak or hamburger side dish.  More American or Texas.  Sometimes you will find it in a Tex-Mex restaurant.
