Visa question, pro's, help me

My plan is following:

Take a visa from here (Finland) and fly to Bangkok and go to Pattaya for a week only.

After that week I go to Angeles city for a week.

After AC I return to Bangkok (Pattaya) for 3 months (at least).

My "problem" is that my visa only has one entry, so I DO NOT WANT to use my visa when I first arrive to Bangkok airport, I only want basic 30days stamp to my passport.

Only after AC trip, when I arrive to Bangkok, then I want to get stamp to my visa.

Anybody else done something like this?

Is there any problems with this? For example that if you have a visa in your passport and arrive to Thailand then you have to use it? Would sound strange, but then again there are many strange things in Thailand :)

Or should you point out clearly to immigration officer that you DONT WANT to you visa yet? Will he or she understand? Does they even speak good english (never spoken to them)

Anybody can help me with this?

I tried it once but it didn't work so i think it's not possible .

Send Darren from Key visa (he's a BM) a mail he will have the answer .

Can I ask why it didn't work for you?

Did the immigration officer just stamped your visa even you asked not to stamp it or what happened?

You can try asking nicely but there is no guarantee they won't activate your visa no matter what anyone says.

Buy another visa before you go?

From my understanding of this and having used a single entry 60 day visa on previous trips, the Thai immigration stamp the visa that is issued in your passport, the 30 day entry stamp only applies when you arrive without a visa...and as for trying to talk the immigration officer into not stamping your 90 day visa but just giving you a 30day entry stamp, i think you got no chance of that happening...... if i was you i would  stay in thailand for 60 days then go to Angeles for a week, then on your return to thailand you would get a 30 day stamp..so you would still get 3 months in thailand and one week in Philippines.or another alternative is go to Angeles first do your week there, then go to Thailand on your 90 day visa.....

could be wrong but couldn't you just to immagration in pattaya and pay like 1000Bt for an extra entry?

Not to get into details, but I cannot do that. For various reasons it has to be first only 1 week or so in Pattaya and right after that AC and after AC at least three month in pattaya/jomtien. Naturally if more than 3 months, then has to make a visa run to Laos or something...

I didn't know that is possbile to add entries to your visa from immigration for 1000baht. If that is the case, I will do that in case of the immigration officer stamps my visa.

Or does anybody know if it is possbile to get a thai visa from angeles city? I understood that embassy is in Manila, but just wondering if somebody know some agency in AC which handle these sort of things?

Hi

Your best choice is to apply for " Double Entry Tourist Visa" (only be obtained from a Thai consulate outside of Thailand)

1st entry : 1 week in Patts

boom boom 1 week in AC

2nd entry : 60 days + 30 days (extension)

If it was only that simple ... this only works when you have a non immigrant or similar . You can get an extra entry but it's not an extension .

I asked but the answer was 'you have visa , you have to use this one first . You can not collect visas and use them when you want' .

I agree with you.

One visa = one stamp (Thai logic)

This idea came my mind already, I was just thinking if this could be done with only one entry (save 30€).

Basic visa extension is something I have done a few times before, so I dont need help with that :)

But anyway, looks like the easiest choice is just to take double entry visa :(

Buy another visa before you go?

You can only have one valid visa in your passport at any one time.

I don't know but I think it is worth investigating as it may be your best option.

Your quickest way to find out is to post the Q on Philippine Addicts.

If you dont find a viable alternative, Staple the page your visa is on to the opposite page. When filling out your arrival form don't enter your visa number in the space provided. The immigration officer might think it is an old visa staple and may not bother opening it. If he doesn't open it, he will just give you 30 days. If he does open it, just ask him not to use that stamp. The worst he will do is use the visa anyway...Maybe worth a try if all else fails.

LOS. Gotta Love It.

If the immigration officer believes that you was trying to conceal the visa (very obviously in the scenario you propose) he/she would be quite within his/her rights to refuse entry. IMO this is not a good option. I know if I was an immigration officer and found two pages stapled together I would definitely be opening it as this is not normal.

I think I play it safe and take a double entry visa...it is "only" 30€ extra and no hassle...

for the sake of 30 euros play safe

or you will get caught out

is it worth trying to fiddle the system NO

Solution is quite easy...

Get a second passport from your country (which is legal) cost in Germany would be 50 USD (38€). Now you enter first with your passport without visa and leave Thailand again with this passport. When you arrive in Thailand again you present your second passport with the visa et voila :-)

haha, easier and more cheap just to take a double entry visa.

I think this thread is done now.

Thank you all for help
