A foreigner in his 30s was seriously injured after leaping from the 10-meter high bridge at Balihai port in south Pattaya. The unidentified victim later fought with rescuers and doctors trying to help him, and seemed to be extremely drunk.

PATTAYA – April 9, 2013 [PDN]; At 4 a.m., a report of an insane man jumping off Laem Balihai bridge was received by the radio center of the rescue unit of Sawangboribultharmmasatharn Pattaya foundation. Rescue officers were sent to the scene with the rescue car.

At the scene, officers found the injured foreign man lying face down on the ground on the road to Phratamnuk hill. He appeared to be about 30-35 years old. His head had hit the ground severely, and he also suffered a broken right arm and was bleeding a lot.

So the rescue officers assisted to do the first aid for him. But the foreigner regained consciousness and got mad. He shouted to scold the officers, and he appeared to be drunk as he resisted the officers trying to help him. So the people and more than 10 officers assisted to tie him in the emergency cradle, and took him to get on the rescue car and then hurried to take him to Pattaya Memorial hospital.

Officers questioned the witnesses, who said that before incident occurred, the foreigner had walked on Laem Balihai bridge until he arrived at the curve of the bridge, and then sat on the concrete side. Suddenly he jumped from the bridge, about 10 meters high where he was sitting, and hit the ground severely. Witnesses then called the officers to come to assist him.

The rescue car brought the injured victim to send to an emergency room to let the doctor’s team cure him. But the foreigner didn’t consent to let the doctors cure him, and got mad. He jumped off his patient bed and tried to beat the doctors and nurses, and hit the mirror of the emergency room until it was almost broken.

Then the doctors and officers team called the security guard, the rescue officers and other people to assist to tie his 2 hands together, in order to calm him down, until he got quiet and calmed down. So the officers untied his hands and released him.

I have been really, really drunk in the past but never once have I tried to jump off a bridge. I assume people like this have got something going on in their head before the drink takes affect

Just watched the report on Pattaya One News, Howard saying the guy is Brit, a Scot, witnesses saw him sit on the wall then jump, later footage of him at the hospital, obviously pissed and pissed off, trying to run away. Fuck me, he must be a tough cunt, if I fell from that height and survived the fall, I'd be flat on my back begging for a shot of morphine.

broken arm in 2 places broken leg cracked skull and brain hemorrhage he was ment to be leaving on the 21st with me but cant fly because of his brain...he is not an angry drunk or a thug in anyway...me and my other mate  was with him but ended up on our own that nyt,it was his first trip over and was only 3 days into it

not sure why he was aloud to leave the hospital in that state because when he did he came back to his hotel and slept for a few hours then when i saw him in the morning i took him straight back and thats when he got an xray and ct scan and we found out how bad it was,he has no memory of that happening and didnt even know he had been in the hospital before i took him back.

the hospital thought he may have been on drugs to accept that sort of pain and not knock himself out, but i know hes not into drugs at all,the last thing he remembers is drinkin in a bar in soi 7 and wakenin up in his room in severe pain...

I would not want to know all the stories of what happens only during one night in Patts. I would not want to do paramedic or cop.

Fortunately I do not have the personal experience, but some people say Yabba can also do this from the man monster that is ready to use out of the normal world understandable.
He probably scraped out of it and we would never do, even though these people relapse is common this behavior.

yeah maybe your right all i know is that is not him at all.he really shit himself when we showed him the video,he finds out tomorrow when he can fly back they says it might be a medical flight

yeah your right there mate they shouldnt of done that knowing his arm was broke its actually broke in 2 places,they have prob just done it to calm him down but it def wouldnt of made it any better doin that plus when you see him get up and walk to the guy taking pics of him another guy grabs him by the broken arm and swings him round into the seats again

I have seen people behave that way on ice and alcohol, never alcohol alone.

Sounds like someone slipped him something. He was a newbie and wasn't 'aware' Lesson to all of us really. Alcohol alone doesn't make you do that kind of shit.
