im staying in the charoensri grand now, no complaints, nice place, central 1600baht a night.

Ruy Suk Mansion is cheap, comfortable and in a good location.

I always stay at the Charoensiri Grand when in Udon. Free wireless and across the road from the Little Issan Walking Street.

stayed there december 2006. Located behind the busstation, walking distance to mall and bars opposite the mall.

good value; big bed, TV, ac, nice bathroom.

Agree about City Lodge. I stayed there for a week in November and found it great value. It also does good food, as does the Irish Clock just over the road. The reception girls are cute too.

 

Would be interested to know if Farang Alley has now been demolished.
