Intelligent Map of Pattaya

Finally, I have come across a useful, meaningful map for Pattaya (with a separate Jomtien one in the planning). Have you ever tried to find a Soi in Pattaya? How many people have you asked and how many times have they not known or sent you in the wrong direction?

How many maps have you looked at without the detail you need?

The link below will take you to what I consider the best interactive map around. If you are on holiday, you can look up a street or check out a bar, café, go-go bar location in a few minutes. If you own a bar, restaurant, sales office or whatever and want people to be able to find you, for 200 Baht a month you can have your place placed on the map in next to no time. I went for a banner link to the location which is 500 Baht a month – value for money in my opinion. I believe if you click on the dot you are taken to that establishment’s website – although I can’t do that with my computer – perhaps this is a glitch they will sort out.

Also, as the business owner has to pay for his ‘dot’ the map will be up-to-date compared to others I have seen.

I’m putting a link to this map on my website so that people on my site can see where Metro Apartments is.

And no, just before the sceptics ask – I’m publicizing this because I think it is a very beneficial tool for all – guests and businesses alike – with no promises or deals of financial or other gain!

I met the 2 gentlemen running this new website yesterday and they will likely be posting more about there site here soon as well. I think they have a great idea and I hope it works out well as it will be a big benefit for everyone if an up to date map is available at all times.

I certainly hope that other business owners view this as well as you do Dennis. That would certainly make the site much better and more helpful for all.

Great map , will have a play with it.

Doesn't seem to work in Opera, the Java won't enable, might just be me

Thanks for the link, this Map had great possibilities, could be one of the best I've seen (once I learn how to work it right). Will have to continue playing with it.

Thank You Dennis for recomending my map!

You said most about it already, but what I can add is that the map is done with the help of GPS, laptop and a motorbike!

The program I have in the laptop (OCAD) draws the streets when I'm driving. For the Pattaya map I spent 2 weeks driving around in the town!

800km in the Pattaya trafic, and I survived!!

Then there was a lot of hours to clean up the map and do the grafics, adding streetnames etc!

Now we have started with trying to fill it with some content!

So if You have a bar, restaurant etc, dont be surprised if we drop in!

For every place we add the map will be more and more useful!

Best regards

Claes

I use Safari as my browser, and all maps do not appear.

I'd love to see it, and hope you can help by addressing this

issue. :Dance1:

Great map but whenI try to print it does not work.Any suggestions?

Try to put it into " my pictures " first, then print off that.

Great map but whenI try to print it does not work.Any suggestions?

You can always print it by chosing "File" and then "print"!

Problem then is that it prints the whole website!

You can also take a "Print screen" and open a program for picture edeting (Photoshop etc)

Then you select just the map and print that!

In the next version of the program that creates the Java Applet (eg the actual map)

I hope there will be a option if you rightclick on the actual zoomed in picture that

say "Print Map".

And thanks for all good words of the map!

Ill go back now in the end of Februari and gonna stay for two months!

All the places that is on the map now was added during three weeks in Jan/Feb.

Hope to add a lot of places now in the furure!
