Several irate Russians complained to Pattaya police that their rental rooms were infested with dog ticks, but the landlord refused to refund their money. The Russians were staying at a Pratumnak Hill guesthouse. The owner said the ticks probably were from a previous tenant’s dog.

PATTAYA – April 5, 2013 [PDN]; At 3 a.m., a complaint was made by a Russian tourist that an infestation of dog ticks had harmed his health, and the landlord was unresponsive. Receiving the complaint was Pol. Maj. Capt. Nakornraj Nonseelad, detective officer of the shift of Pattaya police station, Chonburi.

The complaint was made by by Mr. Igor Rusgrigoryev, 34 years old, and his wife. They had been staying at the Palamita Guesthouse, soi Phratamnak 6, moo 12, Nongprue, Banglamung.

Mr. Igor had made a 9,000 baht deposit for the room, and the couple lived for 4 days in the unit. But they discovered dog ticks walking everywhere in the room. So Mr. Igor went to tell the owner and asked for his money back, because he was not satisfied about the cleanliness of the room.

Mr. Igor said that the ticks had got into his ears, and they could infect him and make him sick. So he notified the police to make a charge of hurting his body and causing injury.

Then another Russian, identified as Mr. Sergey Rusvinkurov, 49 years old, also went to the police station to complain about the ticks. He told police he would have taken all the responsibility for the bug problem if it had been all his fault, but it was the landlord’s responsibility.

Although Mr. Igor would have been satisfied to get only his original deposit money back, he changed his mind and asked for 18,000 baht from the guesthouse owner. However, the owner thought Mr. Igor was asking for too much, so they got into quarrel.

The owner said the ticks must have come from the previous guest who kept a dog. He had instructed the maid to clean the room well, but the ticks were still left in the room.

The police wrote the details of the case in the police journal for evidence, but since the parties had not settled the dispute, the matter would likely end up in the court.

I always suspected dogs and cats spread bugs but some idiots deny it and sleep with them.

How come?

They know special pray or spray?
