Accommodation without security hassle

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm going to come to Pattaya in 3weeks and I'm looking for a hotel or appartment. I was there last month and stayed in the Nova Platinum, but every night the security guy had something to complain about my ladies ID and always required a bribe. To be fair somehow all of them seemed to have some kind of issues with the ID. So I was wondering if there are any alternatives near walking street?

I am looking for a decent place (****), clean, nice room, fast and reliable internet (this is a must as I have to work), safe and no security guard or at least one who doesnt bother about guests.

Can you recommend anything?

Thanks!

Well, it was my first time last months and I didn't really know what was happening. I usually picked up a girl in the Fahrenheit Go Go but somehow they either didnt have ID or only a copy of some letter etc etc ... maybe it was just me doing things wrong. So you are saying it's not normal to have this kind of issues with the ladies?

Also, what is a current rate for a beer bar girl and a go go girl? Somewhere I read it was 1000/2000 but that seemed outdated ... or was I ripped off?

Anyways, I had a good time, so I come back for more later this month :)))))

Mate, u must have been unlucky on your last trip. Never experienced probs as u descrbed. Good security (eg Pattaya Bay Resort) are respectful and welcoming to your guest, Whats more, if guest asks for ID back and u are not with them, reception will call u and check all is well before handing over ID.

My advice go to hotel with good security.

What about LK Renaissance, do you have any bad experience with your hotel? And do you have any joiner fee issues?

No Probs at Ren Mate...no joiner fee (one guest at a time).

Unless you are picking under-age Girls, or illegal aliens, all Thais should have a current ID.

I would be concerned if you were having this many problems and wonder why.

Baywalk residence does not do ID checks you can just March them in and quick WiFi

Fahrenheit has 1,000 BF much cheaper places, and surprised you had problems as they are pretty tight on things

Funny old world, where security is considered a hassle.

Does anyone know a hotel without locks on the doors and no safes? I'm forever losing my keys or forgetting the combination to the safe. Such a hassle!

So it's not the security guard that was a hassle, it's your girls that had no proper ID.

almost all girls in Patts have an ID card, because they know they are likely to go to hotels, and foreign ladies know that a passport from Lao or Cambodia works too, hotels are not immigration. Besides the obvious (but rare) lost ID card, the other reasons for not providing an ID are of mostly illegal nature and I don't want to go into details here.

I advise anyone to take girls who have their IDs and to have the girls leave their ID at hotel reception.

There is no joiner fee at Nova Platinum. The reception works 24h/24 and there is no reason to deal with a security guard (and no reason to bribe him) unless a sneaky back door entrance is attempted... which implies knowing beforehand that the girl wouldn't pass ID inspection at reception... :-/

read up on the   hilton hotel threads      think its possible there.

personally think you are nuts to take this gamble.

I am staying at the Hilton in November because I have points so the room was free, but virtually all of the feedback that I have read is that they charge a 1000 baht joinder fee AND can make the girls feel quite uncomfortable.  I don't think that would be an improvement for the OP.

I have stayed at Holiday Inn and Marriott multiple times with no incident -- front desk took id, but never any issues and certainly no "bribe" required.

I stayed at SeaMe Spring on my last trip and had no hassles at all there.  I also liked its location (Soi 10).

Dancewatchers' condos -- featured in some great TRs -- look fantastic and are in a great location.

You must have some really bad luck if the all your girls really didn't have their ID. Almost all girls I've taken have had their IDs, it is usually rare they don't. Most hotels I've stayed at if I've taken a girl before then the next time I bring them back I can just walk her straight to the elevator no ID needed. If you are adamant about not wanting to check ID then stay at any serviced apartment, or condo. VT6 is very popular, I'll be staying there at the end of the month, partly because I plan on bring back 2-3 girls at a time and don't want any joiner fee hassle.

We always ask for girls ID at Galaxy Suites.  Mostly to protect the customer from underage girls.  Girls leave ID at reception and then go on the merry way.  When they leave hotel they retrieve their ID.  We also record ID number.  This is standard in most hotels.  No hassle if ID is ok.

Good post - exactly the procedure which should be employed by any hotel/guest house etc.

You are begging to be victimized. If that happens your best outcome is to wake up after being drugged, to find your valuables are missing. A worse outcome is you don't wake up. The type of people who do this are unlikely to be skilled at administering a safe dose of sedative.

Although I don't find examples while performing a web search just now, if my memory serves there were cases years ago of tourists found dead in their hotel rooms, hands tied behind their backs, plastic bags over their heads. If memory serves again, these were classified as suicides by the Pattaya police. Think these "suicides" happened in hotels that practiced responsible security to protect their guests?

okidoki, I got you, guys :)

just to put things straight all girls were of legal age and i only picked them up at fahrenheit. i thought their prices were a bit steep, but the girls were very nice and i enjoyed their company, in the bar and "at home" :) so i think i learn out of that thread that i should really not take any girls without id. the one girl which had proper id just had to hand it in at security and things were ok. so i agree to the statement that not security was the hassle but the girl who couldnt provide that right paper. fair enough. maybe it was just a first-timer mistake and they took advantage of me, sending all the girls they would otherwise have trouble with. all of them were nice ladies by the way, i had my valuables in the safe, but none of them was not honest in any way.

thanks for all the replies.

i'm coming back on the 22.4.; if anybody wants to meet up for an ice cold drink i'm interested.

if anybody can recommend a better place than the fahrenheit i'm also interested :)

wow, i just checked dancewatchers, if room service girls look like that i'm in :))))

I've been on only a single trip and already had trouble with one girl trying to up her payment. I never used security but the fact that it was there made me more confident in dealing with the girl. This was the Hilton.

I'd be really nervous about going somewhere with no security guard.
