Need gym ASAP

Featured Replies

I have just arrived today and am staying at Pattaya Bay Resort. The gym i usually use California Wow (in the Avenue Shopping plaza) is closed. I was really handy cause it was only 3 minutes walk from my hotel. Are there any other good gyms near by. Or maybe one down Second Road which i can at least catch a quick ride too.

I just need it to be close by and have weights and some machines, don't really need cardio as they have that at the Hotel and i have Thai girls for that as well!.

Any advice would be welcome.

Tonys Gym.

Never been there, just passing it but I guess it is the right place marked on the map.1.JPG

yup... its upstairs above the 7-11, next to the market area. its got enough basics for most people.... does NOT have a free standing squat rack though.... only a smith-machine rack.

heres a map i made to help people find it, might be a little easier to read.

Tony's gym is OK but it is too small and has too much people. Alternatives:

Tonys gyms on third road - about a 10 - 15 minute walk from your place or you can take a song taew on Buakhao to Second Road

Gold Gym on Third road (http://www.mydestination.com/pattaya/fun-and-sports/172541/golden-gym) - this one is pretty close to you, like a 10 minute walk

There is another gym on the opposite side of third road of Golden Gym, in the same area, nearby, I can't pinpoint it exactly since I have seen it by passing by and I never tried it.

I live on the same soi as you do and personally I go to Tony's on third road, I don't think it is the best value for money but I like that it is big and you don't have to waint in like for the machines like in Tony's on Soi Buakhao.

maybe when you go.... but i go later in the evening when it cools down after 7-8pm, and ive never seen more than 10-12 people there at once.... usually 5-6 people.

How much are these, typically, on a per-visit basis?

tonys are different depending on the location... i think this particular one is 90baht for a 1-time visit.... they also have 3, 5, 7 visit passes, and then 1 week , 2 week, month, 3 month, year and lifetime.

The cheap gym on 3rd road is near Le Carre. It's further north but not far, less than 100 metres.

It's kind of cramped but has everything. Check out upstairs too which has a few things. A book of passes was very cheap, maybe 60 baht a visit?

Cheers, not bad

Thanks for that i will be checking it out today. Thanks for all the other replys guys very helpful!

Do the gyms have any PT's?

Being a lazy SoB on holiday I could need someone to give me a kickstart until I made it to a routine. I would probably need some advice on stretching as well.

My plan is to stay in Pattaya 3-4 months next year and then I need something else to do during the days as I wouldn't be going out as much as if I just was coming for a 2-3 weeks of party.

Try to get in some better shape sounds like a good idea. At least now when I sit in front of a computer..
