Im looking at flights to bkk this summer...using lastminute skyscanner etc...

Some really good deals in may for less than £500 and dont have to transit through india(dealbreaker for me)!

But looking at flights in June onwards the prices shoot up with lots of £700+ only flights...

I know this is high season in Europe....but any experienced travellers know if prices might drop closer the the summer or if it's almost bette to sit it out till september?

Just keep looking mate!

You should be able to get a direct flight for about 550-600 and an indirect flight for 430-480 closer to the time!

I just booked my flight for May and paid 520 for a direct.

I got that price off of  fly.com, but I will check quite a few before I go for one.

I mainly use Kayak and skyscanner, but it never hurt to have a quick look around to see if you can beat them!

I think the general advice is to try and book your flights about 6-8 weeks prior to leaving to get the best prices.

You should be able to get a sub 500 flight if you dont mind a quick stopover.

Oh and DONT ever use Crystal travel! They are bastards!

Also consider looking at Airlines Direct, and be sure to check the small print if using Booking Agents as many are non refundable, do not allow points via FF programs, and in case of problems more often than not, refer you back to the Airline anyway.

Sometimes that 20 or 30 Quid you save in the long run is often not worth the possible hassle should things go Pete Tong

I booked today £609 direct with Eva Air - LHR-BKK

5th July - 19th August

Found it on Holiday Genie - got Southall Travel to match the price - as they can send me the online ticket within 2 hours

I have been tracking this fare for a few weeks now and it has moved up and down like a tarts knickers

I finally decided today was the time to pull the trigger

Good move... FYI, used Holiday Genie recently and cannot fault their service. E-Ticket was through very quick which I confirmed with the airline by phone immediately.

I agree but being a Sunday - I decided Southall were a guaranteed bet

Holiday Genie are 5 minutes drive from me - so on occasion I actually go into their office and book while I am sitting there

I used to you use these all the time, great prices and service.

To be honest they are no cheaper than anyone else and I do not like companies that advertise direct flights to Thailand so cheaply and they never exist

Just take a look at some of their headline offers

I agree that drives me mad, I used to use southall travel but always find Netflight cheaper now days. Saying that I booked for May with emirates on their own site as they were doing some good deals.

Ewa do the best flight times and they are direct so I think you have done well as flights are dear in July/August, enjoy your trip

The simplest way to get headline offer prices is to ask for them , if they will not tell you when these prices are available ask if they are "advertising goods for sale which are not available" which is a criminal offence they  or their manager will then tell you when that flight is available as its a legal requirement and they could lose their licence. have done this several times but its often in 48 hours or for only 3 or 4 days stay

That's a nice long trip u got planned. Do you get a 60 day tourist visa first?
