Purchasers of either Part 1 or Part 2 of Back will be entered into a draw to be held once a month and the winner will receive a spoon made from Vietnam War debris. Just email me your Shipping confirmation (or other confirmation of purchase) from Amazon or other online retailer, to [email protected]  and your name will go into the monthly draw, and will stay in until you are successful or until I run out of spoons.

If you buy both parts of Back, your name goes in twice.

Given what goes into them, the spoons are for display only, and not for use.

Spoons will be sent by ordinary post, to the address on the shipping confirmation, at the winner’s own risk. I will notify each month’s winner by email, but no correspondence will be entered into in the event that the spoon does not arrive.

Lao PDR is the most heavily bombed country, per capita, in history. According to UXO Lao, over 2 million tons of ordnance was dropped on the country between 1964 and 1973 in nearly 600,000 bombing missions, and it is believed that up to 30% of all ordnance dropped on Laos failed to detonate. UXO Lao estimate that 80 million cluster bomblets still remain unexploded long after the war.

Besides aircraft munitions, there were tank rounds, anti-tank rounds, RPGs, mortars, rockets, artillery shells, bullets, fragmentation grenades, mines and many other types of ordnance fired, thrown or otherwise left in the jungles of Laos.
