When I first saw this remarkable UPI photograph of a plane going down in Vietnam, I thought it was faked, but it isn't.

It shows the moment shortly after a US cargo plane was blown out of the sky by a US artillery shell, fired by a 155mm Howitzer, as the plane approached a Special Forces camp near Duc Poh, South Vietnam, in 1967.
