Two drunk Thai women in their 30s were caught stealing liquor and instant noodles at a 7-Eleven shop at Pattaya Beach. They avoided arrest by negotiating to pay for the instant noodles and liquor they had consumed and to return the other stolen items.

PATTAYA – March 20, 2013 [PDN]; at 3 a.m., a report of shoplifting incident was received by the police of Pattaya police station. The incident occurred at a 7-Eleven shop, Thip Plaza branch, Pattaya Beach Road.

Arriving officers found the staff of the 7-Eleven shop had captured a severely drunk Thai woman, identified as Ms. Sarakkhana Longarsa, age 33, from Tambon Koodkhonkaen, Amphur Phuweang, Khonkaen province.

She confessed that she and another friend came into the 7-Eleven shop and stole goods from the shop. The staff of the shop didn’t see them because they were arranging products on shelves.

After stealing goods in the shop, the drunk women brought 4 items of the stolen goods to eat together at the beach near Soi 11, close to the 7-Eleven shop, consisting of 1 bottle of liquor, 1 bag of instant noodles, 1 bottle of San Miguel beer and 1 bottle of Smirnoff beer.

But a bystander had seen the theft, so he informed the staff of the shop. The staff then notified the police to arrest Ms. Sarakkhana. The police then took her to find her other friend that made trouble together.

They found her friend, identified as Ms. Arissara Bangbaros, age 35, from Tambon Khan-ngern, Amphur Langsuan, Choomporn province. She was sitting on the side of the beach drinking the stolen liquor from the 7-Eleven shop.

Ms. Arissara gave the appearance that nothing had happened, and she was so shocked when she saw her friend was arrested by the police. So the police investigated Mrs. Arissara, who was also severely drunk. She confessed that she really made trouble, and had already eaten the instant noodles and drank liquor.

But the two women still had not drunk the two bottles of stolen beer. They asked to negotiate with the staff to pay for the liquor and instant noodles that they already ate, and to return the stolen goods that they didn’t consume to the shop.

The staff of the shop consented to let them pay for the liquor and instant noodles for 38 THB and got the 2 bottles of beer in return. The staff saw that the 2 women got drunk, so they didn’t ask that the police arrest them. But they asked the police to warn the women not to steal their property again, or they will be arrested and sent to jail.
