A woman from Roi-ed quarreled with her husband and climbed down from the 2nd-floor terrace to escape. But she slipped on the tile roof and fell, piercing her leg on a spiked steel fence. Rescuers cut away the fence portion and later removed the spike from her leg.

PATTAYA – March 18, 2013 [PDN]; a report of a woman falling from a high place and getting her leg pierced by a sharp steel spike was received by the radio center of Sawangboriboon Thammasathan foundation Pattaya, Chonburi. Rescuers and volunteers with equipment rushed to the scene.

The woman was reported to be stuck on the fence pole behind the Thaworn rented rooms on soi AR in central Pattaya, moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamung. Rescue officers arrived at the scene, a 2-story brick apartment building, surrounded by a fence that was 2 meters high, belonging to the Villa Orange hotel.

In the back of the apartment building, officers found the victim, identified as Mrs. Prapa Janorn, 32 years old, from Panomprai, Roi-ed, employed as a maid in a Pattaya hotel.
Her left calf was pierced nearly all the way through by sharp steel spike. She was crying in pain for help. Supporting her body and encouraging the victim was her husband, identified as Mr. Pongsak Intasee, 38 years old.

The rescuers brought a hydraulic cutter to cut off the steel portion of the fence, and gave the victim first aid before sending her to the hospital. Later the medical team removed the steel spike out of her calf safely.
Police questioned the apartment building manager, Mr. Wuttikrai Pimpila, 25 years old. He said Mrs. Prapa and her husband Mr. Pongsak lived on the second floor in room number 8, and they always quarreled.

Mr. Wuttikrai had been sleeping in the caretaker’s room that was detached from the building. He woke up after hearing noises like someone was walking on the tiles. Then he heard the sound of cracking tiles, and then a voice crying for help. He went to check, and found a woman got pierced in her leg on the hotel’s fence, so he called the rescuers.

Mr. Pongsak, the victim’s husband, told police that he and his wife had been quarreling, because she always escaped to her friends’ houses to socialize. That upset him, and he told her not to go out again. But his wife was so stubborn, and she tried to escape again. So he walked to the ground floor to catch her.
But then he heard the sound of crying for help from his wife, which made him forget to be upset for a while. He rushed to support the body of his impaled wife, before a good citizen called the rescue team.

The police came to check the scene before taking daily notes for evidence. As for the cause of the incident, they assumed Mrs. Prapa tried to climb down from the 2ndfloor terrace to escape from her husband, who was waiting at the ground floor, before she stepped wrongly and fell down.
