Just a little hotel review from my visit to LOS in Nov.

1st (2 nights) - Anna Jet Guest House - This is what you would expect for a basic guesthouse for 500 a night. Room size was not bad, there was a TV that could not have been larger than 9" (This things was SMALL) remote for TV did not work. There was an in room safe and a fridge complementary 2 bottles of H2o per day nice little touch. Linens were coarse and bed was very firm, the bathroom was not really dirty but just OLD and very run down. The staff was great though, but on a scale of 1-10 this place receives a 4 only because the staff/in room safe/Free water. Guest Friendly and no ID check

2nd (3 nights) - Residence La Fontaine - interesting place NO one I meet had any idea where it was, yet it is on Walking Street about 100 yards after Rolling Stone Bar on the left. Nice place, actual shower not just something pointed at the toilet attached to the wall. No in room safe but the room I had was BIG I stayed in their two room suite, AC unites in both rooms and two balconies. Staff sorry to say not that great actually they kind of irritated my one night. Had a littler altercation with a BG she was drunk, had taken her the day before, showed up at my hotel and waited for me to get back, and when I did with a new girl she threw a fit, the security guy just sat there laughing. REALLY pissed me off. So I left the next morning, but the room was nice kitchenette couch eating area, and decent TV with DVD player. This places scores a 6 out of 10 only, would be an 8 but BAD staff. Also at prices of 9,000 to 15,000 for monthly rent is not bad at all, and location was really nice. GUest Friendly and YES ID check

3rd (6 nights) - Sumalee House - OK this place first off is kind of tricky to find it is at the end of the soi that the Apex hotel is attached too. walking NORTH on Second road you will run into Apex hotel on your right, the soi right after the hotel go down there and at the END on your right side there is a hotel called SUMALEE. Found this through a mutual friend who told me I would enjoy it. The room was nice Good size TV, AC, NO in room safe (but there are Deposit boxes at the front t desk to use). Bathroom was VERY clean, kind of basic but streaming it was so clean (I Liked that). The one thing that was REALLY weird is that when you leave to go out you leave you key on a table at the office, now at first I was VERY unsure about this, but it actually is GREAT. You NEVER have to worry about watching you key when you go out. The owner who is there almost 24/7 is an elderly lady and I believe her name is Sumalee, but she is great, if she is not out front she has three other ladies that work there as well. They always have someone in the office to watch over the place, and it is quite down at the end of the Soi so nose in the morning never bothered me. Cost here was again 500 a night and in my opinion WELL worth it. This place rates a 9 out of 10. GREAT staff, nice rooms, and I like the location only bad thing is no in room safe. No web site you have to call her to book but if you stay weekly the 500 I believe is cut down to 400 and monthly to 250 a night. Guest Friendly and no ID check

Thanks for taking the time to report. I was looking at Anna Jet. What about Wi-Fi at Sumalee. Besides general feel, staff, size, bed, safe, etc many people look for Wi-Fi or at least Internet somewhere in the hotel?

Anyone who cannot cope with mathematics is not fully human. At best he is a tolerable sub-human who has learned to wear shoes, bathe, and not make messes in the house.

Thanks for the recap. I've only been to Pattaya once on a timeshare promo and, of course, I'm hooked and looking for nice places to stay. Always good to hear first hand info.

I left my labtop at home so the wifi in Anna I can't coment on, Sumalee there was NO wifi that I knew about if u want to call and ask the number is 66-38-412948. I make sure I leave my work at home when I am on Holiday, taking my labtop just leaves me a reason to do work.

This sumalee sounds like my kinda place ... budget, clean, quiet and guest friendly. Any better idea where it is located. I mean 2nd Rd runs across almost all of patts, doesn't it? Where is this Apex hotel .. just trying to get an idea of how far it is from the action.

The Apex is a block away from soi Diana on 2nd road, that would be about soi 9 or 10.

almost across the street from tipp plaza. Never saw sumalee though.

Hi There,

Is residencelafontaine right at the far end of beach road near the pier? I'm just trying to figure if it's the one at the end with the flash looking restaurant on ground floor?

Cheers
