Lk Royal Wing or Royal Suite

Hi

I'm heading to Patts in May. Before I have stayed at Sabai Lodge, Dynasty Inn, August Suites.

I loved the location of August Suites and like walking round, so looking for something in that area. Budget is a bit tight this time round due to a month of unemployment as I change jobs so looking to spend about 1300THB (edit. Make that 1500)

I was looking at LK Royal Suites or Royal Wing. Please can anyone help me out with:
1. Is either Suites or Wing better than the other. Can't really tell from the websites.
2. I've seen reports of water being either really hot or cold. Is this really a big problem or just a few people who like complaining?

Thanks for any help.

Fair point. Something wrong in my currency conversion! Booking.com is showing LK Royal Suites as about 1500THB. So happy to spend about that (about £350 in uk terms for 11 nights)

Don't know about the Royal Suites but stayed in the Royal Wing and was not very impressed.  Room was very nice, but as you mention water was a problem in the shower, but the biggest problem was the reception staff who just didn't want to know or care!

Swimming pool on the roof also lacked shade.

If you book a standard room in Royal Suites you will not be staying in the building with the pool but across the side street in an other building.

only the suites are in the building with the pool.

great place to stay if you have the money

as was already mentioned, the suites are in main building - I have stayed many times. Worth the money. However, on one ocasion I stayed across the street in a standard room. Still decent, good comfortable bed, refrigerator, TV, but some noise from street seemed to affect the rooms here. They have recently improved their breakfast buffet. Absolutely one of the better ones around town. I like the location - close to Pattaya Central road, not too far from The Avenue, and you are right on Soi Buakhao.

As already mentioned  the suites are in the main building. Also the reception desk and cafe are there too. anytime you need anything its a walk or a wait for roomserve to reply. Also sometimes its nice to step out of your hotel and have a tuk there waiting to wisk you away. The wing suites are nice rooms but setup on a studio bases. I stayed at the wing for two nights then had the hotel switch me to the suites. For me i like the seperate living room bed room of the suites and the water preasure and enternet worked better. With that being said. the wings are newer less street noise to worry about and not a lot of foot traffic. They are roomy comparied to some of the other rooms at same cost. but the room lighting was dim which is great if you sleep days and party nights. Hope this helps.

bapsy. i just stayed at lk mansion, which is just across the street from lk royal suite on soi buakhao just off central rd. i highly recommend this place if you want to stay lk but are on a budget.

you get the best price if you book on their website, i was paying 4500 per week, so just under 650 per night. very good value for money IMO. i would have stayed longer but didn't like the location.

it has a nice rooftop pool, elevator, king size bed, minibar, tv, a/c, hot water, and a picture window to the bathroom, which is always a good feature in a monger hotel.

check it out on their website. the room they gave me was identical to the photos on the website.

edit - water is fine, my room had a portable heater with the round dial that lets you choose the temp, similar to most places I've seen here. good pressure too. some people just need to complain about something

Thanks for the replies guys... After some consideration, I decided to take a change of tack. So have now booked in at Areca Lodge for half my stay as I've heard it is a decent place and I thought it might be fun to stay in the Metro area.

I'm doing the rest of my stay in VT6 through DW. Staying on the 26th floor which will be an awesome view.

So now I've blown the budget but I have booked the first week of my trip in Phuket on reward points, so can afford to spend a little more in Pattaya.

Thanks again for the pointers on LK RW nd RS. I think I'll pop in this trip to take look around for next time.
