On my last trip I had the same thing happen but I let it go for a few days an copped a dose of conjunctivitis.

I took some Chlorsig drops which cleared things up in a few days but this is a topical antibiotic and should probably be recommended by a doctor. PRODUCT INFORMATION CHLORSIG - Aspen Pharmacare Australia

If you wear contact lnses then the itching might be from the airconditioning....

Best advice is to drop into a pharmacy and get some advice from a professional.

There are some that only employ words for the purpose of disguising their thoughts.

Do you get it prior to arriving, or within the first day, or after several days? Chances are it's conjunctivitis. Lots of people don't really think about touching their eyes after touching all kinds of things in Pattaya.

The problem is smoke and dust in the air. Pattaya is full of piles of burning trash and construction projects. If the commercial products for itchy eyes don't give you any kind of allergic reaction, that's probably the way to go. Of course starting out with Liquid tears is a good way to start but it's not particularly effective given the amount of pollutants around.

Artificial tears is a good way to start. Then on to eye drops designed for itchy and watery eyes. Most of these are antihistimane based. If these don't do the trick, an eyedrop with hydrocortisone is the most effective. Must be used sparingly because they have bad side effects if used for any length of time. These always do the job for me as a last resort.

An old remedy used to good effect is a cold tea bad. Placed over closed eyes, these can really relax and cool watery and itchy eyes.

Good luck.

Try Cetirizine tablets. They're over-the-counter in all pharmacies. Boots Pharmacy has their own brand which is very inexpensive.

It's an excellent antihistamine which doesn't dry you out or make you drowsy.

Also, if you've got an option, try switching from your aircon to a regular fan for a couple days.
