A 61-year-old Swiss man was arrested in a South Pattaya rental room for selling ya-ice and ganja. He was caught after one of the addicts he sold drugs to named him as the drug dealer. After his arrest, the Swiss man denied selling drugs, and said he only bought them for his personal use.

PATTAYA – March 11, 2013 [PDN]; at 2 a.m., an arrest was made of a foreign drug dealer by Pol. Capt. Vinai Sanitphan, Deputy Inspector, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province; with the police team and volunteer police.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Dietrich Urs Wildhaber, age 61, nationality Switzerland. He was arrested in a rental room at Charn mansion, beside the Fly Bird condominium in south Pattaya.

Officers restrained him to investigate and prosecute at Pattaya police station. Police seized the evidence of 0.95 g of ya-ice, as well as 8.3 g of ganja, along with equipment to consume the drugs.

The arrest of Mr. Dietrich resulted from an earlier arrest of a drug addict by police. The addict confessed that he had bought ya-ice and ganja from a foreigner drug dealer named Mr. Dietrich Urs Wildhaber from Switzerland.

So the police brought forces of the police team to arrest the defendant in rental room number 206 on the second floor of Charn mansion. A police search of the room uncovered the hidden drugs and drug-using equipment.

During questioning, Mr. Dietrich claimed that he only bought drugs to consume for himself and not to sell. He told police that he bought the ganja and ya-ice from a Thai drug dealer in Soi 5 Thepprasit. He had used a motorbike-for-hire to take him to buy the drugs, which he brought back to his room to keep for his personal consumption.

However, the police didn’t believe Mr. Dietrich. So they charged him with having Type-1 (ya-ice), and Type-5 (ganja) drugs for consuming and selling illegally. The suspect was sent to the investigation officer to prosecute further according to the law.
