Desperate French Man harms himself after Wife leaves him.

 

Police Lieutenant Colonel Samrit from Banglamung Police Station received a call to attend a house at the Chat Gew Gow Village where a foreign man was attempting to take his own life. At the scene Police began to negotiate with Mr. Gorand Movry aged 63 from France, the owner of the house. In the front porch, he was holding a 20cm long knife to his throat. He was seen to cut himself on his throat and face. The man was clearly in a drunken state and explained to Police that he was upset that his Wife, Khun Pientong, who had left him because of his persistent drinking. After some time, the Lieutenant Colonel managed to persuade the man to put down the knife and allow Police to enter his house. After some calming words from the Officer, Mr. Movry promised that he would calm down and would not cause himself further harm. Police took no further action and left the scene.
