Welsh man caught up in early morning fatal road crash in Jomtien.

 

 

Just before Dawn on Wednesday, a fatal road accident occurred on the Tepprasit Road in front of Soi 17 in Jomtien. Police Captain Batipat from Dongtan Police Sub-Station was assigned to the case involving a pick-up, a motorbike and an electric company truck. Witnesses mentioned that the pick-up, a blue Ford Ranger, driven by Mr. Alan Burrowes aged 57 from Wales hit the motorbike which was entering the Tepprasit Road from Soi 17. The bike was driven by Khun Prapan aged 17 who was killed in the crash. A passenger on the bike, Khun Sonshai aged 19 was badly hurt and transported to Hospital suffering from a broken leg and suspected spinal injuries. According to witnesses, the two young men were thrown form the bike and the driver was thrown under the parked electric truck. Mr. Burrowes remained at the scene and explained that he was unable to brake in time to avoid a collision and the bike appeared to exit the side street without the driver looking for oncoming vehicles, a story confirmed by witnesses. Under Thai Law, Mr. Burrowes was placed under arrest and is now assisting Police with their enquiries.
