Use the 'View New Posts' option

You can quickly find all the threads that contain new posts in since you last visit by using the 'View New Posts' option. It can be found in the upper right hand corner of the page. The screen capture below shows where it can be found.

I always use it to check out new post instead of refreshing the page.

all the boards that I have used have this feature.

 

Only a pain when I have been away from a board for about a week and end up having over 200 posts to catch up on.

 

I always start from the last page and work forward to most recent post as more will come as I work forward.
