I am planning a trip to Luang Prabang for April/May. Any good hotel recommendations, area to stay; city center or river ? Side trips, elephant trek ?

There are some great options in LP that aren't on Agoda etc. Might be worth booking somewhere for yhe first few nights then asking around - location not critical as its all reasonably close together.

 

The only thing to do there is relax and chill out to be honest. Depends who you're travelling with but u may run out of things to do quite quickly!!
