Western style barber ?

Hi

Not really a health issue but will be in Los fora good 6 to 8 weeks and need my hair cutting every 2 have had a few butcher jobs in the past and would like to avoid happening again

Any suggestions

Alternatively, go to CK Jenny salon on third floor of The Avenue shopping center on 2nd Rd. Ask for P. Woot. Cost is 300 thb, but he does good work.

I'll second this recommendation, but I've switched to Mayrin (May) on 2nd floor, RGM, Toward second road side of the mall. A my age, a daily shower and shave, and a real good haircut every two weeks is all that separates me from many of the other blokes here.

Most of those guys are pretty good, but the young guy best. Good for a straight razor shave too. There is an old fashioned barber post out front too if you don't see it at first.

Agreed, there are a couple of ladies that give great cuts too. But I would avoid the older Thai guy who looks like an Elvis wannabee. Guys come out of his chair looking good but he seems to favor the clippers over scissors... a no no in my book.

 

Very reasonable price too... 100 baht

in Bangkok you can come to our place! we do many TV personalities and models. On top of that the wife speaks great English. We even have people who live in Phuket come to us lol

Soi Hollywood (aka barber street) off South Pattaya Rd, first shop from the end at Soi 17. They are great cutters and all nice guys and a girl or two. Costs 80Baht, and they are happy to accept 100B...LOL!!

hes right about the barber shop but wrong about the chair, his is the second last chair, anyway, hes the youngest in there, hes about 24 year old, he knows what hes doing. im very fussy about my hair, he got it eventually

When I saw him last week I was sitting in the first chair by the window (have used both of the chairs in the past) but honestly, it doesn't matter-;)

 

Best recommendation I can pass along for this young guy is that I meet regularly with a bunch of retired American expats who can't seem to agree on much of anything (God Forbid you mention politics, global warming or the average price of pussy) but they all use his services and will defend him with their dieing breaths.

i got my hair cut by this poofter in a salon after the hair cut he pulled out this rusty ass razer blade and said do u want your neck shaved haha i said fuck no man not with that shit ,then the cunt put powder on my face to get the excess hair off its was kinda wierd but he did a pretty good muzza cut

Damn damn damn... stop in for a haircut and the young guy has moved on. Does any of his regulars know where he is working now? Otherwise, it's time to dust off this thread and look for new recommendations again... Err...

If I remember correctly his name is Ae. He has switched chairs, and as stated, the last time I was there he was using the chair closest to the entrance.  He is easy to spot as he is by far the youngest barber in the shop. Possibly around 27 years old.

 

He is the best barber I have come across in Pattaya. Unlike some of the Thai barbers that have been around forever he gives you the haircut you want....not the haircut he thinks you need. Technically he is OK. Many years ago, back in the dark ages, I was a hairdresser.

 

He does take one day off a week. I'm not sure what day. If you just blow in, the next hairdresser in sequence, will offer you his/her chair. Just indicate that you will wait for Ae if he has somebody in his chair.

 

I believe I paid 100 baht in February plus I always give a 20 baht tip. The 20 baht is not required but I acknowledge his skill and service.

Right... I agree with everything that you're saying about Ae. My problem is that I stopped in today and the other barbers said that he doesn't work there any more. This happened about a year ago when he stopped for several months and I was told that he was working somewhere else. Then one day he just showed up again.

 

I would love to get a lead on where he has moved to and or I'll settled for another recommendation.
