Bars and Minimum wage

Do you know what constitutes a "day". Is it a certain number of hours - ie 8 hours. If so could you not adjust your rosters so that each girl only works 7 hours per shift. If your bar closes at 2 and the girl is rostered to finish at 1 the likelihood is she woud stick around anyway if she has a punter on the hook for drinks at 1 0'clock. And without knowing how much you as the owner profits from each ladydrink or BF you could maybe increase the girls ladydrink/BF cut by 10-15 baht which would increase their salary if they work hard without digging into your cut too much.

Good ideas, but I am reluctant to make the lady dependant on Lady Drinks for income as we have a rule. If the girl asks for a drink she is instantly dismissed. I believe if the girl is working correctly and taking care of the customer, making them feel good, they never need to ask for a drink because they get one bought for them anyway. If they have to ask for a drink then they are not doing their job right!

Just another day in Paradise!

Are we talking £6 a day hear 300bt fuck if you can't pay that you might aswell close the bar lets face it that is 5/6 beers a day mind you it may mean you have to pay your own tab

This also means paying more for the girls and higher beer, and Bar fines. Haha thats funny comparing 300 Bahts to 6 British Pounds.

Thai labour law stipulates that a "working" day is maximum 8 hours (or 7 for hazardous work) and 48 hours per week.

Although this widely "broken" (many work 10+ 7 days per week) it is fairly safe to assume that the 300 Baht is intended for 8 hours.

I would imagine blind eyes will continue to be the case for the many who work 10,12 hours a day; however this would preclude employers from increasing working hours to cover the pay rise. To do that would, I assume be unlawful.
