Two Russian female tourists were arrested at a south Pattaya 7-Eleven store, after injuring a female clerk by throwing a coke bottle that hit her head. They claimed the clerk had short changed them. The Russians also destroyed other property in the shop.

PATTAYA – November 28, 2012, at 11:20 p.m., a report of two foreign women destroying property and beating clerks at a 7-Eleven store was received by Pol. Lt. Surachok Kangwanwanich, investigation officer, Pattaya police station.

The incident occurred at a 7-Eleven shop, Soi Diamond branch, second Pattaya road, south Pattaya. Inspector police and volunteer police were sent to the scene. The two suspects were identified as Ms. Irina Lyubaykina, age 35, and Ms. Elena Klepechina, age 27, both Russian.

The 7-Eleven store manager, Ms. Sureeporn Chutinavy, pointed out the suspects. She told police that the two foreigners had damaged 2,500 THB worth of property in the store, and also assaulted her clerk, Ms. Sayoomporn Khamhaeng, age 28, who suffered a wound in her left forehead.

The wounded clerk, Ms. Sayoomporn, told police that the Russian women had bought items totaling 219 THB. They had paid her with two 100-baht bills and a 20-baht bill. So she gave them change of 1 THB.

But both ladies began shouting that they had each given her a 1,000 THB bill. The clerk and ladies began arguing. Then Ms. Irina grabbed a coke bottle and threw it at Ms. Sayoomporn’s head. Ms. Elena then helped Ms. Irina to beat Ms. Sayoomporn until she got injured.

Then several bystanders forbade the Russian ladies to commit more violence and took them out of the store. However, both Russians re-entered the store and grabbed various items like cosmetics, drinks and food to throw on the floor until the items got damaged.

The two Russian women refused to answer questions by the police and didn’t consent to say anything. But the police had the exact evidence of damaged store goods, as well as the testimony of eyewitnesses. Both women were restrained and taken to the Pattaya police station, where they were charged with damaging property and beating a victim.
